⚠️ IT STARTS WITH MEN ⚠️ PLEASE STOP SCROLLING!! This is a plea from me to my thousands of male LinkedIn followers and connections. Please take action. After all, actions speak louder than words. Today is White Ribbon Day (25th November), and I am incredibly proud to be named an ambassador for White Ribbon as part of the accreditation that International Professional Security Association (IPSA) led by Satia Rai F.ISRM DIR.IPSA has been granted with this exceptional organisation. The 2024 campaign, IT STARTS WITH MEN, calls on men to take accountability for addressing harmful masculine norms that contribute to violence against women and girls. This is about creating change by taking responsibility, not assigning blame. Even if you just did one of the actions below, you’d be doing more than you were doing yesterday. Here’s how you can ACT NOW: ✅ Change your virtual background to the official campaign image on your calls today (downloadable in the resources section of the White Ribbon website). ✅ Wear a white ribbon to symbolize your commitment. ✅ Start a conversation—with your team, family, or friends—about the importance of gender equality and men’s role in driving change. ✅ Make a donation to White Ribbon to support their incredible work: www.whiteribbon.org.uk ✅ Hold yourself and others accountable. Lead by example and challenge harmful attitudes and behaviors wherever you see them. Violence against women and girls is rooted in harmful masculine norms. This campaign focuses on addressing the attitudes and behaviors that make women fear violence in their daily lives. While women aren’t the only sufferers of violence, this issue demands our urgent attention. As someone with experience in inclusion and diversity, and now as an ambassador for White Ribbon, I know that gender equality is achievable—if men and boys take responsibility as allies. So today, I’m asking: WILL YOU TAKE ACTION? Will you step up, lead by example, and help create a safer, more equal world? #WhiteRibbonDay #ItStartsWithMen #PositiveChange #GenderEquality #ActionsSpeakLouderThanWords https://lnkd.in/e-DhuMdd

Today we are united on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women in our commitment to ending gender-based violence in all its forms. The reality is that nearly 1 in 3 women globally experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, often at the hands of those closest to them. This violence knows no bounds and impacts all women, including trans and gender-diverse individuals, disproportionately affecting those already marginalised. At Proud 2 Play, we believe in the power of sport to drive social change and foster safe, inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive. Throughout the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, we will be actively participating in events and speaking out about the role the sporting sector can play in combating this crisis. Sport can challenge harmful gender norms, promote equality, and create networks of support for all. The sporting sector has the capacity to lead by example, showing that respect, equity, and safety are non-negotiable. This includes actively standing with trans and gender-diverse women, ensuring they are part of the conversation and solution. As we support the 16 Days of Activism, remember that ending violence against women is not just a women’s issue—it's a human issue and we all have a role to play. #NoExcuse #16DaysOfActivism

Next year marks a milestone - we will mark the 30th anniversary of the most visionary international agreement on women's rights adopted by 189 countries at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. For those of us working on women's rights, it's a moment to push forward for progress, and resist the roll back of our rights. The Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action transformed the agenda for ending violence against women, among many other issues. To mark the #16Days of Activism, I took a closer look at what changed, because of the 1995 Beijing agreement. #NoExcuse https://lnkd.in/e7iRhzkr
