🌍 Unlocking Green Potential: Tackling the Financing Gaps in Central Europe’s Energy Transition 🔋 Did you know that public and private buildings account for 43% of the EU’s final energy consumption? 🏢🏠 As key drivers of the energy transition, these buildings are at the heart of the European Green Deal. However, Central Europe faces uneven progress due to disparities in economic development and access to finance. To meet the EU's climate and energy targets, energy efficiency investments must more than double. 💡 The MESTRI-CE project is leading the way by introducing a new investment model for climate-friendly buildings. Our analysis of market gaps in Austria, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Slovenia is crucial in identifying solutions for deep renovation. We’re focusing on innovative financing models that bring private investors and citizens into the equation. 📊💼 Stay tuned as we share our findings and pave the way for a greener, more sustainable future! 🌱 #MESTRI #MESTRICE #Interreg #Interregce #CentralEurope #Euproject #smartdatamanagement #sustainablebuildingstandard #greenfinancing #GreenFinance #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #EUClimateGoals North West Croatia Regional Energy and Climate Agency (REGEA) | e7 energy innovation & engineering | Agentur für Energie Südtirol - KlimaHaus | Energieagentur Nordbayern GmbH | Mazowiecka Agencja Energetyczna | Jozef Stefan Institute | IPOPEMA | Zelena energetska zadruga (ZEZ) | Zagreb Stock Exchange | Energie Agentur Steiermark MESTRI-CE Interreg Central Europe – a project of Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme, Co-funded by the European Union

As ever, the Infrastructure Investor Network Global Summit in Berlin has proven to be a critical date in the calendar, offering the chance to discuss the big themes shaping investment decisions. Some key takeaways from this year's event, where the Actis team hosted over 90 LP meetings, include: - Climate change being understood by investors in an increasingly in-depth way – investors are alive to the opportunities offered not only by the energy transition and the demand for new, renewable energy generation but also by other types of sustainable climate-related infrastructure, such as district cooling, as the global climate continues to warm. - Geopolitical and demographic shifts mean opportunities are moving East and South – investors are increasingly looking to global growth markets outside of traditional western markets, in particular when it comes to infrastructure, because they understand the structural megatrends affecting the global economy mean the strongest demand will lie in those markets, creating enormous opportunities for those building and operating safe, defensive infrastructure assets with downside risk in those growth markets. At Actis, this is our sweet spot – we unlock global opportunities by investing where we see the best risk-adjusted returns and these are in the growth markets we operate in. If you didn’t get a chance to meet with our team in Berlin, you can still get in touch at any time. The #energytransition in Central Europe is hindered by uneven development and financial disparities. To overcome these challenges, a holistic system is being developed to support sustainable building and green financing, involving regional working groups and leveraging smart data technologies. 👉 MESTRI-CE Interreg Central Europe
🌍 Energy Transition in Central Europe: Challenges & Opportunities 🌱 The energy transition across Central Europe is facing significant hurdles due to uneven economic development and imbalances in technology and finance distribution. With buildings accounting for 43% of the final energy consumption in the EU, they have been identified as key drivers in the European Green Deal. 💡 Key Insights: - Energy efficiency investments need to more than double to meet the EU’s climate and energy targets by 2030. - Financing the shift to climate-neutral buildings remains a challenge, with the EU urging member states to involve private investors more significantly. To address these challenges, Regional Working Groups have been formed across pilot regions, consisting of key experts and stakeholders. These groups are focused on developing and testing the MESTRI-CE holistic system, which integrates Smart Data Hub technologies and methodologies to support sustainable building and green financing. Our groups are formed in Austria, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Poland and Slowenia. 🥳 The future of energy transition relies on collaboration, innovation, and investment. Together, we can make it happen! 💪🌱 #EnergyTransition #GreenBuilding #Sustainability #EuropeanGreenDeal #SmartData #GreenFinancing #ClimateAction #MESTRI #MESTRICE #Interreg #Interregce #CentralEurope #Euproject #smartdatamanagement #sustainablebuildingstandard #greenfinancing North West Croatia Regional Energy and Climate Agency (REGEA) | e7 energy innovation & engineering | Agentur für Energie Südtirol - KlimaHaus | Energieagentur Nordbayern GmbH | Mazowiecka Agencja Energetyczna | Jozef Stefan Institute | IPOPEMA | Zelena energetska zadruga (ZEZ) | Zagreb Stock Exchange | Energie Agentur Steiermark MESTRI-CE Interreg Central Europe – a project of Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme, Co-funded by the European Union
