EUSPA - EU Agency for the Space Programme’s Post

As of 2:40 UTC / 4:40 CEST, EUSPA is managing two new Galileo satellites as part of the Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP). The satellites were launched earlier this morning by the European Space Agency - ESA under a contract with SpaceX, and have now reached their breathing point. Over the following days, EUSPA’s GSOp LEOP team will be manoeuvring the satellites from the dedicated Galileo Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany until they are precisely placed into their home orbit at 23 220 km. Galileo LEOP operations constitute one of the most cooperative activities between numerous European entities in the space sector, including EUSPA, Spaceopal, DLR GfR mbH, GSOC, Telespazio and ESA. The #GOVSATCOM Hub will bring together the delivery of secure, reliable, available and resilient #SatCom capabilities and services with authorised government users. A consortium led by GMV will lead the implementation of the Hub, while EUSPA will oversee its operations and coordinate the user-related aspects of the programme. SWIFTT Project will use #EUSpace to provide a scientifically sound and technically feasible way to help monitor and manage forest risks. The #HorizonEU project will enable forest managers to adapt to climate change with affordable, simple and effective remote sensing tools backed up by machine learning models. SWIFT will offer a monthly health monitoring service using Copernicus satellite imagery to detect and map the various risks to which forests and their managers are exposed.
