Chelsea secured Estevão's signing in June '24 for a €34m fee (potentially rising to €57m)
They've adopted a bit of a scattergun approach to signing youngsters over the past couple of years, but this one looks like a solid investment.
Estevão is set to join #CFC this year!
The 17-year-old wonderkid, making his name at Palmeiras, has dazzled in the Brasileirão Série A. 🇧🇷✨
As a right winger, he tops our Progressive Ball Carrying metric, showcasing unmatched ability to advance with the ball at his feet.
Chelsea fans, are you excited to see him link up with Cole Palmer? 🔥🥶
🇧🇷 Betting firm Betano has agreed a deal to become the new title sponsors of the Brazilian Serie A.
🤝 The deal marks a significant revenue uplift, with the 3-year agreement worth $16 million per season.
📈 In comparison, the previous agreement with title sponsors Assai brought in $10 million per season.
⚽️ With this deal, Betano expands its presence in Brazilian football, as they already hold the naming rights to the Brazilian Serie B and to the Copa do Brasil cup competition, while also being the main sponsor of Clube Atlético Mineiro.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as #Pelé, is universally regarded as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, players in football history.
This Brazilian superstar, the winner of three #WorldCup titles (more than any other player in history), never played in Europe. Have you ever wondered why?
There were certainly attempts to lure Pelé to Europe, made by top clubs such as #Juventus, #InterMilan, and #ValenciaCF. However, these efforts were thwarted, either by fan revolts or by #SantosFC's refusal to sell their star player during his peak.
The most drastic measure to keep Pelé in #Brazil came from the country's government under President Jânio Quadros, who declared him an "official national treasure," making it nearly impossible for foreign clubs to sign him. A bold move, indeed!
How do you think Pelé would have fared in Europe if he had the chance to play there? Share your thoughts in the comments!⬇️

📌 The final of Libertadores is here.
Here are the differences between Mineiro and Botafogo off the field ⬇️
*The final will be played at the beautiful Monumental Stadium this year.
➡ The champion will take home $23M.
➡ The runner-up will take home $7M.
Historic figures:
"The final of the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2024 will be the best-paid in the world" — Alejandro Domínguez, president of CONMEBOL.
Another historical fact:
➡ This is the first time in Libertadores history that two SADs (Sports Anonymous Societies) face off.
Both teams took advantage of law 14.193/2021, which allows private capital to enter football in Brazil.
➡ Mineiro became a SAD in June 2021.
➡ Botafogo became a SAD in August 2021.
Do you think this will mark a new era in America?
So far, only 9 clubs in Brazil have become sports anonymous societies.
Among them, the two Libertadores finalists.
More facts:
➡ Mineiro will play its 2nd final.
➡ Botafogo will play its 1st final.
➡ Mineiro averaged 29,750 attendees in the 23/24 season.
➡ Botafogo averaged 22,601 attendees in the 23/24 season.
➡ Mineiro has won 11 titles.
➡ Botafogo has won 5 titles.

Good morning to all my sports enthusiasts friends from around the globe!
Wanted to share a few thoughts about the #CopaLibertadores final that was played last night, a huge game that usually goes under the radar!
A quick summary: Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas won the game and are on a path to secure their national trophy. Losing Gregore who was sent out early in the game didn’t prevent them from scoring 3 goals that secured their first international trophy.
But this isn’t the story here.
During the last 5 years the Brazilian teams restored their hold over the continent with 5 out of 5 international trophies spread over 4 teams (Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, S.E. Palmeiras, Sport Club Corinthians Paulista and Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas), mainly due to the huge amount of money invested by American owners that took hold of almost half of the teams in Brazil.
Looking at the lineups for both teams, European fans can identify multiple players that rejoined their native teams or came back to Brazil in search of glory and playing time. Hulk, Alex Telles, Paulinho, Thiago Almada and Lyanco are the main names here.
This shows that the #Brasileiro really knows how to pull back players from all over the world back home.
The South American football calendar is almost over, with a few games left in each league before calling it a season. And I can’t wait to see which teams will win their national championship.
Looking forward for more interesting games like the one we experienced yesterday 😊

# Never Give Up: The Power of Persistence
In life, as in sports, there are moments that test our resolve and challenge our beliefs. One such moment occurred during a thrilling football match in Brazil, where the leader of the championship, Botafogo, faced off against Palmeiras, who was in third place. As the game unfolded, Botafogo took an impressive lead, scoring three goals and seemingly securing their victory. However, the narrative took an unexpected turn, showcasing the incredible power of persistence.
Despite being down by three goals, Palmeiras did not falter. Instead of succumbing to despair, they rallied together, demonstrating remarkable focus and determination. One by one, they chipped away at Botafogo's lead, scoring four consecutive goals to win the match 4-3. This stunning comeback serves as a powerful reminder that no situation is ever truly hopeless.
In life, we often find ourselves facing challenges that seem insurmountable. Whether in our personal or professional endeavors, it's easy to feel defeated when things aren't going our way. However, the story of Palmeiras illustrates that persistence and focus can change the outcome. Just like in football, where a match can turn with a single moment of brilliance, our lives can shift dramatically if we refuse to give up.
As we reflect on this incredible match, let's carry its lessons into our daily lives. Remember that setbacks are not the end; they are opportunities to dig deep and find the strength to push forward. Whether you're pursuing a career goal, navigating personal challenges, or striving for self-improvement, keep the spirit of Palmeiras in mind.
Never underestimate the power of perseverance. The journey may be tough, but with focus and determination, you can turn the tide in your favor.
Wishing you a fantastic weekend filled with inspiration and resilience!
🏆 We say goodbye to 2024 in the best way.

The Brazilian Série A 🇧🇷 is proving its unpredictability yet again this year.
This got me wondering... what are the chances? 🧮😶
As we approach the midpoint, Botafogo’s effort to regain the title they last won in 1995.
Botafogo’s strong defensive record and competitive performance are notable, but their projected total of 61 goals is slightly below the historical average of 66.5 goals for title-winning teams over the past decade.
Their +G - -G value of 0.834 indicates they are competitive, though not leading the pack.
Based on my analysis of previous winners over the past decade, Botafogo’s chances of winning the league stand at around 35-40%. This takes into account their current performance, the competitiveness of the league this season, and how their stats compare to past winners.
It’s curious that the current leaders, Botafogo, aren’t the bookies' top favorites! Instead, Flamengo (the top pick), in third place, and Palmeiras (second pick), in second, are seen as having stronger chances of securing the title.
In the meantime, I’ll be diving into more data and video analysis of the Brasileirão games.
Can’t wait to see if these odds shift and to uncover new insights...
