Perceiving safe access to food is a part of the concept of food safety, but it doesn't guarantee a healthy diet. 😕 Generations of exposure to wars, disasters, and extreme situations have made us sensitive to hunger and willing to do anything to avoid it. 😔 When it comes to nutrition, finding a balance between trusting we'll find food and eating the right amount is tricky. ⚖️ Negative perception is a strong motivator, but it doesn't always support healthy choices. 🤔 This is why access and choice are crucial in combining food safety with healthy diets. 🤝 My reflection highlights the complexity of the food system. 🧠 Knowledge, awareness, and competence about our local food systems are key to ensuring we have both access to food AND healthy options. For example, see below, how many of us having access to coconuts would know the nutrients in them ? 💪 #FoodSafety #HealthyEating #FoodAccess #FoodChoices #FoodSystem #FoodKnowledge

Many people complain about gas and bloating, often blaming certain foods 🍲. While it's easy to assume food is the culprit, especially with 48M food poisoning cases in the U.S. annually (CDC), the real issue might be your own digestive process 🧬. Before switching diets, restaurants, or grocery stores in search of relief, consider exploring how your digestive system works. It might hold the key to better digestion. 🌟 Hint: It could be the clothes you’re wearing 😳 #Food #FoodSafety #Health #Wellness #DigestiveHealth

One of the most important facets of an overall healthy skin lifestyle is eating well. No matter which dietary theory you follow, the healthiest ones are all centered around eating whole, unprocessed foods. Sadly, the food culture in the United States has centered primarily around processed and convenience foods to the extent that many people even know where to find fresh, local food near them. Eating fresh, seasonal produce and local, traditionally farmed meat can ensure that you are eating healthy and supporting local farmers. In this post, we share our favorite local resources for healthy food: https://lnkd.in/eZ565_C5

Sizzling to success Prepping is a fundamental component when keeping consistent and disciplined with food… THERE IS ALWAYS TIME .. Planning, controlling the amount and prepping will ensure you stay on track and have enough dense nutritional calories.. full of colour This is tomorrow’s lunch.. mid morning meal already cooked and in the fridge.. and is sooo blimmin tasty.. Rice, minute beef steak, snap peas, peppers, courgette, onion, cheddar cheese and my favourite combo of herbs and spices .. It may feel like a chore at the start but after a while it really is just a normal routine job… I actually really enjoy cooking now and it’s all easy, quick meals A few tips Cut and prep your meat or alternatives, stick them in a freezer bag and freeze Cut up veggies and stick ‘em in small containers and refrigerate Cook at least 2 meals in advance and refrigerate so you are always prepared for your next meal Make sure you have plenty of the goods stored.. if you haven’t got time to nip to the shop then get yourself a deliveroo account!! It really can be achieved.. a little organisation and even your family can enjoy the good stuff too Give me a shout if you need some more info 💪🏻💪🏻 #food #prep #organise #nutrition #mindset #cook #foodpreperation #consistency #discipline #eatwell #health #healthyeating #calories #macros #personaltrainer #coach #bodypositive #bodytransformation #mealprep #energy #bodybuilding #bodybuildingwoman #refuel #amazon24fitness #goodfood #foodporn #tasty #energybalance

Seafood is a marvelous addition to any diet. Its versatile flavors and myriad health benefits have made it a staple in heritage dishes and diets around the world. However, according to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, nearly all Americans eat too little seafood. There are so many ways to incorporate it – fresh, canned, grilled and more – into your meals twice a week, like in these dishes: https://bit.ly/3SqXsvP

ANC restaurant tips 🥡🍝 considering take-out this week? planning on going out for dinner this weekend? ◽️here’s a handy post to refer to when making menu decisions. my hope is that the majority of the time we’re making picks from the ‘pick it’ side…but we’re all human & dabble on the ‘skip It’ side from time to time - that’s a-okay. ❕be aware of the descriptive words used on menus to appeal to our senses; the aim is to make more mindful choices when possible. the ‘skip it’ menu items that are likely going to be higher in added sodium, sugars, & unhealthy fats. ✅ steamed roasted baked light fresh grilled sautéed ❌ fried creamy crispy battered buttered smothered cheesy thick glazed ➡️ some other quick tips: • ask for dressings/sauces/dips on the side. this way you can control how much/little is added to your plate • pay attention to portion sizes. nothing wrong with asking for a to-go container & having the leftovers for lunch tomorrow! • make your own swaps to fit your nutrition goals. remember, you’re the customer so it never hurts to ask what substitutions they can accommodate. for example: maybe instead of all rice in that bowl, you get half rice & half greens? ◽️screenshot this caption to your phone so you can easily access it & make a healthier choice next time eating out/ordering in. 🫶🏼 #nutrition #nutritioncoach #nutritiontips #healthylifestyle #mindfuleating #healthyswaps #takeout #restuarantfood #skipthedishes #ubereats #yycrestaurants
