Just back from IMEX in Frankfurt, and wow, what a whirlwind! 🌪️ It’s like a big family reunion but with badges and business cards (actually - I stopped doing business cards). I loved catching up with old friends and making new ones. Talking to hundreds of you, here are a few trends I’ve noticed among event agencies / AMCs / PCOs: 1. 🛠️ You're done reinventing the wheel: Agencies are done building new processes for each client. But how are they fixing it? I saw more and more agencies strongly steering their clients to use tools prescribed by the agency. And it makes sense: Why juggle a dozen tools when a few can do the job better? 2. 🩰🥾 The Event Planning Rollercoaster: Running an agency is becoming a thrill ride nobody bought tickets for. Clients change their minds post-contract (yup, insane, right?), venues are negotiated at the eleventh hour, and attendees are playing hard to get by signing up last minute, it’s a logistics 4D chess, with our pawns all over the place. 3. AI is still the elephant in the room: Most third parties have not figured this out yet. A quick tip? Start simple: Integrate AI to automate mundane tasks like attendee inquiries. No fancy tech is needed. It’s not just about being fancy—it’s about finding practical solutions that give us back our sanity. Am I missing something? Wanna rant?
