Yesterday I posted a short article called Rethinking Documentary Film Festival Policies: A Case for Modifying Premiere Requirements and Towards a More Collaborative Vision. I just added the following idea in it namely awarding distribution opportunities for top audience-pleasing films: In addition, festivals could consider leveraging audience awards to enhance a film's journey. 🎥 Just because you land a film distribution deal doesn't mean your film will automatically have global reach. 🌍 Distribution deals often vary by region and market, and what works in one part of the world may not resonate in another. It's crucial to understand the specifics of your deal—where your film will be shown, how it will be marketed, and who your audience is.
