The fastest-growing segment of the cancer population is working-age adults. Of those who return to work, 67% experience six or more illnesses caused by their cancer and their treatment, along with a mountain of medical debt that compounds their emotional distress. This webinar brings together a stellar panel of experts to break this all down and identify steps employers and health plans can take to ease the burden. I hope you'll join us.
Please join our upcoming webinar! Moderated by Kim Wirthlin, President and COO of Huntsman Cancer Foundation, along with distinguished panelists, Murray Aitken, Michael Halpern, PhD, M.D., Jennifer Steel, and John Librett, we'll explore evidence-based programs and policies that can support the broad adoption of cancer survivor care for employees, as well as payers and hospital systems. #cancer #survivorship #webinar https://lnkd.in/gEA4bBaU

Survivorship is our priority. Is it yours? As we celebrate Cancer Research Day, it's important to remember that survivorship care is a vital part of the cancer journey. Survivors face challenges beyond treatment — long-term physical and emotional effects that require a new model of care. At The After Cancer, we create personalized and comprehensive survivorship plans that address these needs. We ensure that as we advance in cancer research, we also prioritize the quality of life for those who survive. 15 February marks International #ChildhoodCancer Day, providing an opportunity to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of supporting research to give all children with cancer the best chance to live their dreams. Thanks to advances in cancer care, 80% of children now survive 5 years or more, but we know that more can be done. Last week we joined the ACCELERATE Multi-Stakeholder Platform conference to discuss with all stakeholders how we can accelerate progress in paediatric oncology by sharing good practices from across Europe to advance diagnosis, therapy and care. Cancer still being the leading cause of death by disease among children in Europe, we are committed to continuing to discover, develop and deliver innovative treatments to create a future where no families are affected by cancer. #ICCD2024 #WeWontRest

Black women are disproportionately represented in breast cancer mortality rates, and they tend to be diagnosed earlier. Last week, when the USPTSF changed their universal recommendation for women to get screened from age 50 to age 40, it was already way off the mark for Black women. Their elevated risk factors mean that screening earlier is doubly important, and this has been borne out by research. Learn about the reasons why Black women are at a higher risk and how you can get started on preventing breast cancer today. #BreastCancer #BreastCancerScreening #CancerDisparities #StoryMD #StoryMDHealth https://str.md/xNGGVe
