Had the privilege of co-hosting a Zoom session with Stanley Greene of PowerThinking Corp in Philadelphia. I shared my personal journey of overcoming trauma, from transitioning from an Air Force military BRAT to a Navy Petty Officer during DESERT STORM. Despite facing challenges, I embraced resilience and faced the trauma of my past. Reflecting on the impact of Roe vs. Wade, I discussed the feeling of learned helplessness many young women may face. Emotional regulation and diversity of thoughts are crucial, especially in leadership roles. Let's equip ourselves with positive psychology tools and take educated risks in a global economy perspective. Thank you to all who engage in these important discussions. Let's continue to foster resilience and growth mindset in our communities. If you know you'll be planning virtual events for a community at any point and want to learn from some of the best designers/facilitators of inclusive programming, check out the Center for Scientific Collaboration and Community Engagement! One of the reasons I feel confident in offering virtual and hybrid event planning support to organizations is because of what I've learned from the CSCCE team and the work I was able to do collaboratively with members of that community (in particular, the resource we created focused on accessibility https://lnkd.in/eitFQJKj). This tip sheet is one of numerous free resources they have created. Check out their three upcoming workshops (and they've even got a sale right now, buy 2 workshops, get one free!) Session 1: Making a PACT for engaging virtual meetings and events Session 2: Designing for effective decision-making during virtual meetings Session 3: Selecting supplementary tools for virtual meetings and events And no, I'm not paid to promote this, I just deeply believe in the quality of the work that they're doing. Link to the registration page and descriptions of the three sessions is in the comments. #Accessibility #A11y #Community ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 👋 Hi! I'm Sara Kobilka, Renaissance Woman! I'm here to give you permission to reject feeling boxed in. Instead, I challenge you to explore your multitudes and embrace your intersecting identities. 🐝 Follow #CrossPollinating to find my posts bringing impactful ideas across industries and pop the social media bubble the algorithm tries to trap you in.Image Description: Screenshot of the top of the first page of the CSCCE DEI Tip Sheet: Virtual event accessibility guiding questions. The CSCCE logo in the top right includes a light blue design that looks like a flower with stems coming off of a central node. Below the title, two paragraphs from the introduction and background can be seen.

Have you ever considered using Family Group Conferencing to plan care and support? Instead of "doing to" a person, this approach puts the person at the heart of planning their care, with the support of the people in their life who know and love them. Learn from Sean who uses this approach in adult social care https://lnkd.in/eywgQEMg #SocialCare #FamilyGroupConferencing
