I thought I knew what the next couple of months were going to look like... It has been a wild ride the past few years. Both professionally and personally. I was fully prepared to put some professional ambitions on the back burner to focus more on the personal ambitions that I have been neglecting lately. BUT.... this event on Wednesday has me intrigued to learn how I may be able to keep my entrepreneurial fire burning bright while still providing my family and myself with proper attention! Who is going to join me for this timely message as we head into a reflective season to prepare for an impactful reset? #chca #businessowners #personalgrowth

We are never too old to graduate from what we’ve been doing. In other words, why save the great commencement speeches for students? Everyone deserves to be excited about their future. So do yourself a favor this weekend, watch Neil Gaiman’s brilliant speech and apply as necessary (no matter how old you are). “Be wise, because the world needs more wisdom. And if you cannot be wise, pretend to be someone who is wise, and then just behave like they would.” #Mattering #Creativity #Inspiration Full transcript:

CEO of Inspire 2 Ignite CIC | Connecting Future Talent to Forward-Thinking Businesses through Life-Changing Experiences 🌟
What does it mean to ‘Be more Gen Z’? This is what Faith Falayi, Tariq Sadiq, Eva Lindy W., Laura Guymer and I discussed yesterday at the Form the Future CIC conference. We unpacked… The importance of how we all need to use the ‘5-yard-rule’ when sharing our stories - you never know how this may inspire someone positive change reaction it can have afterwards The need for experiences - the knowledge that a young people will gain through doing will far outweigh the learning that they’ll gain from a text book. It’s all well and good having the knowledge, but what’s the point if you haven’t had the opportunity to apply it? How we should educate young people about essential elements of our society such as the civic service much earlier in their academic journey - How much experience and impact could they have on others if they were exposed as early as 8, not 16? MASSIVE shoutouts to… Eva Lindy W. for being an excellent facilitator. Laura Guymer for inviting me Anne Bailey and the Form the Future CIC team for putting on the event. It’s incredibly inspirating to see!

So guess who's coming to Christian Brothers University on Oct 2nd, for a FREE event that is open to the public! Well, only Mexican born, award-winning author, Valeria Luiselli to discuss her books, "Tell Me How It Ends: An Essay in 40 Questions", and "The Lost Children's Archive" in two amazing events at CBU and Rhodes College! So why should you come, bring your family, and tell your neighbor to do the same? Well, first it's free to both #Bucs, #Lynx, and #Memphis. Secondly though, you'll get a chance to ask questions, meet others across the city, buy a copy of both her books, and have them signed after getting a picture with the author. I mean, there's plenty of other reasons too, but we'll just leave it at there for now. So, with that said, we look forward to seeing you, your kids, your co-workers, your students, and more there! *Note: Capacity Seating at the CBU Event is 500 to reserve as soon as possible. Also, should you not be able to come in person, there is a virtual option in viewing the event too. So, quick recap; awarding winning author, Valeria Luiselli in Memphis on Oct. 2nd and 3rd, free events at CBU and Rhodes College, we'll see you there! For more information and to register for the event, check out the link below, and the flyer attached. (https://lnkd.in/eYBxqRTz) Finally for any other additional questions, please contact Director Brooks via email (jbrook13@cbu.edu). #GoBucs #MemphisReads #CommunityOneBookAtATime
