Are you ready for PPWR? The European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) draft mandates that all packaging must be fully recyclable by 2030. Designed for Recycling: Packaging must be easy to collect and process without interfering with other recyclables. High-Quality Recycling: Recycled materials must be good enough to replace primary materials and be recyclable on a large scale by 2035. Grades of Recyclability: Based on recyclability, Packaging will be graded A, B, or C. Only grades A or B (80% or higher recyclability) will be permitted in the market by 2038. Why Metal Packaging is the Best Choice: Infinitely Recyclable: Metal can be recycled forever without losing quality. Permanent Material: Metal’s infinite recyclability helps reduce pollution, making it a permanent and sustainable choice. Metal packaging stands out for its high recyclability and sustainability, aligning well with PPWR requirements. Let’s move towards a greener future together! Introducing another installment of our Myth vs. Reality series: is chemical recycling just incineration or producing circular chemicals? Myth: Advanced recycling is just another form of incineration. Reality: Advanced recycling is a game-changer for creating circular chemicals! At ENCINA, we’re redefining recycling with our proprietary advanced recycling technology. Unlike incineration, which burns waste to generate energy and releases harmful emissions, our process focuses on sustainability and circularity. Here’s how: Our unique technology—integrated single-stage catalytic conversion—efficiently converts end-of-life plastics into valuable drop-in chemicals in a single step. This innovative approach minimizes energy use and emissions and lowers carbon footprint compared to incineration and other recycling methods. Our advanced recycling technology also facilitates a true circular economy as we are committed to activating new supplies and creating value from challenging waste streams that typically end up in landfills. The chemicals produced through our process can be reused to manufacture new products, fostering a true circular economy. This means less reliance on fossil fuel resources and a reduction in plastic waste. #Sustainability #AdvancedRecycling #CircularEconomy

Rethinking Plastics: Unpacking the Myths of Recycling The quest for convenience has overshadowed the true essence of recycling, particularly when it comes to plastics. While recycling is a vital component of a sustainable future, the current plastic recycling process falls short of expectations. Instead of creating a circular economy, it has become a facade that undermines genuine sustainability efforts. Understanding this discrepancy is crucial if we aim to develop systems that genuinely preserve our environment. Our reliance on plastics has led to an overwhelming surge in waste that recycling facilities are ill-equipped to handle efficiently. The illusion of recycling, especially in the plastics sector, stems from a complex system that often ends up causing more harm than good. It’s time to scrutinize this process and redirect our efforts towards sustainable solutions that prioritize impact over convenience. How can businesses and individuals contribute to a more effective recycling system that transcends the current limitations of plastics recycling? #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #PlasticsRecycling #EnvironmentalImpact #WasteManagement #SustainableSolutions

🔄 Exploring the Viability of Recycling Plastics 🌍 Plastic production and disposal contribute to 3.4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, highlighting an urgent need for effective waste management solutions. However, for over 30 years, plastic producers have known that recycling is not an economically or technically feasible solution. Here’s why: Complex Composition: Plastics, made from oil and gas, have thousands of different chemical variables. Meticulous sorting is needed, and plastics can't be recycled together, making the process costly. Degradation: Plastic degrades each time it's reused, typically only allowing for one or two cycles. Recycling merely delays disposal rather than offering a permanent solution. Chemical Recycling: Promoted as a solution, chemical recycling breaks down plastics into tiny molecules to create new products. However, this process is more energy-intensive and polluting than traditional methods. Recycling, while beneficial in the short term, is not a comprehensive answer. We must innovate and invest in sustainable alternatives to reduce plastic waste and its environmental impact. #Sustainability #PlasticRecycling #BioXGlobal #EnvironmentalImpact #WasteManagement #ClimateAction
