The FWWB team participated in the Roundtable on Advancing Women's Leadership in Agrifood Systems, organized by CGIAR and ALLIANCE—Biodiversity & CIAT on September 11th and 12th. The roundtable catalysed some truly thought-provoking discussions, highlighting the transformative power of women's leadership in our agrifood system. Your participation and insights were not just instrumental but also the driving force behind shaping these discussions. Visualize what women's leadership looks like in today's agrifood system by tracking the changes made so far, challenges faced, risks, and trade-offs. The participants shared programmatic strategies for advancing effective women's leadership in agrifood systems and discussed the role of institutions and policies in the leadership journey. The workshop concluded with solid thoughts, a plan of action, and an extensive collaboration to bring more women to the forefront of the agrifood system. FWWB plays a pivotal role in transforming many women farmers into leaders through FPO strengthening, capacity building, providing financial assistance, and keeping women at the forefront of all interventions. Thanks to CGIAR and ALLIANCE—Biodiversity & CIAT for organizing such deep-rooted conversations, which have brought several ideas and thoughts into action. As summer reaches its peak, I find myself reflecting on the incredible achievements we’ve made at MicroHarvest over the past few months. Recently, there has been significant discussion around the importance of diversity in leadership—how it shapes and empowers diverse teams to create lasting and transformative change. At MicroHarvest, diversity is a core value. Our team, representing all continents and a wide range of backgrounds, is a testament to the power of diversity in driving impactful results. In May, I had the pleasure of speaking with Tessa Wiles for FiGlobalInsights about the crucial role of women in the food and biotech industries. As a female leader, I’ve been fortunate to have both female and male mentors who have taught me the importance of resilience and strategic thinking in leadership. Their guidance has been instrumental in my approach to fostering innovation and inclusivity within our team and the broader industry. To all aspiring female entrepreneurs: I encourage you to build a strong network of supportive peers and mentors who understand the (statistically proven) effectiveness of diverse teams. Collaboration and shared insights are essential for overcoming industry challenges and driving meaningful change. This is why 1,100+ international leaders come to Amsterdam this week. Business for good is growing. That's why 1,100+ leaders visit the B For Good Leaders summit on the 23rd and 24th of May at the Amsterdam Conference Centre Beurs van Berlage. And they're not just there to talk. In these fragile times, they all come for one reason: to make an impact. Every joining leader is geared to take action, no more time for just talking. Pure Carbon Blue will be there as well. As an innovative carbon capture company we're looking forward to get inspired by great leaders like Indian British activist Satish Kumar, President The Club of Rome Sandrine Dixson-Declève, and Marit van Egmond of Albert Heijn, Raymond Cloosterman of Rituals and Andrea Illy of Illy Caffè. Especially when it's about climate change, we believe that sharing our knowledge is important to make an impact. And there's more. Marc Goedkoop, PhD of Pure Carbon Blue will be one of the panel members in the Regenerative Economy breakout sessions. There's no better place to get inspired and take collective action than at this event. Will you be there? We're looking forward to meet you in Amsterdam.
