How often do people actually leave work on a high?! I'm guessing that most of the time it's probably the opposite... Well today I practically skipped out of the office. Moving to lead the marketing department at a challenger brand has turned out to be everything I hoped it would be: 1). Firstly, challenger brands have senior leadership teams who understand the value of marketing. 2). Challenger brands have a strong vision. 3). Challenger brands UNDERSTAND THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! They get their issues, they speak their language, they know where to find them. 4). Challenger brands aren't afraid to try something different. 5). And finally, challenger brands have fun. (Seriously, this is so important.) And it's because of these above five points, that today, after weeks of strategising, conceptualising, planning, creating, editing, more editing, (and a bit more editing😏) for our first upcoming campaign, the team has started to finalise some work that has genuinely knocked my socks off. Emma Biggs and Matt Harding - massive appreciation for all your amazing work 👏👏👏👏👏 You've blown me away! But this is just the beginning. New quarters are exciting. They are full of new opportunities. I love brainstorming ideas and planning for new quarters. Especially when the topic is marketing. I always knew we would need to invest early here. I love bringing marketing into the whole GTM v's seeing it as separate function. That's where the real magic happens. Plus it helps that offsites with Daniel and I are always the best, but we always walk away with WAY too much work (and too much food consumed)! We have some exciting plans ahead which I'm looking forward to sharing. Is it just me that gets this excited about new quarters?! #marketing

The hiden side of marketing we often overlook… One of the things I’ve come to realize about marketing is that we usually view it as purely external—something designed to attract new customers or retain the ones we already have 🐣 It’s easy to focus on that because it’s measurable, tangible, and tied to revenue. But what we often overlook is the internal function of marketing 👀 When your company is well-marketed, it doesn’t just resonate with customers, it resonates with employees too. It boosts morale, creates a sense of pride, and sometimes even gives you bragging rights 🔥 There’s something powerful about being able to say, “Yeah, the company you’re hearing about? That’s where I work.” I remember when I was at Throne, we had a Business Development Intern, Katrina Henderson, who would casually ask us to be part of Throne’s TikToks or Instagram posts 📸 I’m not sure how many impressions those posts got, but it always put a smile on our faces. It was fun, spontaneous, and honestly, it made us feel like we were part of something bigger!
