Software Development Manager | Lead Technical Program Manager | Agile Coach | Professional Scrum Master | Professional Scrum Product Owner | Six Sigma Green Belt | Board director, past President | Published photographer
I have to believe this quote from fellow #Dunfermline boy, Andrew Carnegie "Think of yourself as on the threshold of unparalleled success. A whole, clear, glorious life lies before you. Achieve! Achieve!” Which leads me to a quote from another famous Scot, Alexander Graham Bell.... "When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us." Wise men indeed. I'm actively hunting down my next open door. #jobhunting #recruiting #opentowork #jobsearch #hireme #jobhunt #jobseeker #hiring #recruitment #jobsearching #programmanagement #gethired

Being "Open To Work" I definitely appreciate leads on roles that may be a good fit. And it's alway a little exciting to see a message from a recruiter about a role. But PLEASE - read my profile first. I'm in SEATTLE (top left of the map....). When you send me a role that is "100% on-site in Tampa, Florida" (bottom right of the map....) it's just not a "great fit". #onsitejobs #recruiters #opentowork #notrelocating #mobileappdevelopment #softwareengineeringmanagement

Operations Management | Team Building & Leadership | Training & Development | Resource Allocation | Risk Mitigation | Cross-functional Collaboration
🔍 Open to New Opportunities in Portland Area Feeling genuinely worn out and frustrated after over 6 months of active job searching. 🚀 Despite pouring my heart and soul into every application, the results have been dishearteningly minimal. I've left no stone unturned: meticulously tailoring my resume and cover letter, networking tirelessly, and even exploring industries outside my comfort zone. Yet, the responses have been largely automated rejections or eerie silence. The challenges of the current job market are glaringly evident. The mortgage industry, where I've recently worked, is stagnating, and branching out seems akin to navigating a labyrinth without a map. Despite being advised to pivot towards promising sectors like insurance or healthcare, the feedback remains consistent: "We need industry-specific experience." Even attempts to recalibrate my approach by targeting lower-level roles haven't yielded results. It's a disheartening cycle of rejection, despite knowing I possess the skills and dedication to excel in any position. Networking efforts, both old and new, have yielded little success, leaving me at a crossroads where even unconventional options like delivery services are being considered for income. I believe in the power of prayer and positivity, but they feel inadequate when faced with the relentless stream of setbacks. What's truly frustrating is knowing my capabilities and not being given the opportunity to showcase them. Repeatedly being told that "direct experience" is paramount feels like a dismissal of my potential. So, spare me the platitudes and empty affirmations. What I seek is a genuine opportunity to contribute, to prove my worth through action, not just words. I am ready and eager to make a meaningful impact in any role. It's not arrogance but a genuine belief in my abilities honed through years of dedication and success. In essence, don't just wish me luck or offer prayers—consider giving me the chance to demonstrate why I'm worth hiring. Let's connect and explore how I can bring value to your team. I assure you; the investment will be worthwhile. 💼 #JobSearch #PortlandJobs #OpenToOpportunities Dylan Patterson-Sims, Laura Torres. MBA, CDCS

My search for a career home has been a journey filled with personal and professional growth. I've gained proficiencies in a diverse range of tools, new knowledge of trends, and developed a refined recruiting process I likely would not have been afforded otherwise. However, the journey has also been the least lucrative job I have ever had. Devoting 9 to 10 hours daily to this search has come with no income, and I even had to step away from my own venture and move back in with my father to put all of my time and effort into this search. But for those of you who seek a "rockstar" candidate, I challenge you to look for individuals who have fought and developed to be better both personally and professionally. True leaders prioritize determination, adaptability, and a firsthand knowledge of market blind spots and discrepancies. These are the qualities that should make a candidate stand out from the crowd. So, if you want to find the best, look for those who have worked hard to get where they are. And for those of us still searching for our career home, let's keep pushing ourselves to be better every day. #opentowork #recruitingcareers
