Summary: The study on grafted rubber trees revealed significant changes in DNA methylation and gene expression, suggesting that grafting induces the reprogramming of DNA methylation in Hevea brasiliensis. By comparing DNA methylation profiles and gene expression between grafted plants and donor plants, the research identified differentially methylated genes and differentially expressed genes that play a role in the metabolic pathways and biosynthesis of secondary metabolites in rubber trees. This study provides insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying intraclonal variations in grafted rubber trees for commercial planting.
