Manufacturers STILL face hurdles when getting #VR up and running. Ever wondered what NOT to do when implementing VR into manufacturing? That's exactly what I set out to answer in this latest paper: What Not to Do: VR Implementation Teams and the Barriers that Inhibit them. I recently presented this paper at the #SPS2014 conference in Trollhättan, Sweden. A HUGE thankyou to all the wonderful discussions from my peers, and I look forward to continuing this exciting subject with all of you. This paper examines two product development teams who sought out to implement and utilize VR in their workflows during the development of new, large machinery. Results showed that there exists several different roles, from top management down to the casual technology user. Furthermore, different roles experienced different barriers and challenges. This research was conducted within the #KODIT project at Mälardalen University in collaboration with Volvo Construction Equipment and is funded in part through Vinnova .
