Solving a 3M Adhesive Application Challenge: Reducing Costs and Improving Precision We recently helped a customer overcome a tricky challenge with applying 3M adhesive to a small cover glass. The glass was only 4 inches, and the adhesive was just 1.3mm wide and 1.1mm thick, which made traditional application methods prone to misalignment and deformation. After testing a couple of solutions, we ultimately developed a custom fixture with vacuum suction and eliminated the need for PET release film. This approach not only improved accuracy but also reduced extra production costs. By refining the process through testing and optimization, we successfully solved a long-standing issue for the customer while helping them keep procurement costs under control.
