Introductions to angels, VCs, BDC, NRC-IRAP, etc in your network, and do it early so a relationship can be built BEFORE fundraising is needed 2. Invites and encouragement to attend pitch events like Angel Forum ™ Vancouver VANTEC Angel Network Cindicates Women's Equity Lab Coast Capital Innovation Centre Tiny Summit etc 3. If we are new to fundraising and you aren't, review our decks, forecasts, etc and help us make them better 4. Publicly promote us and our businesses on your socials. It's one thing for a VC, Angel, banker, whatever to hear me say my business is great, it's another when you as a successful, well respected entrepreneur does. For those of you who have done stuff like this for me, it has made all the difference and the proof is in the pudding - the amount of investment conversations MeepMeep has had recently has absolutely exploded. Yes, this is because our business is checking the right boxes, but without the visibility you've helped provide, no one would know. Nothing better than meeting someone in person after seeing them only online and catching that glimmer of raw entrepreneurial spark that you rarely see.  Recently, I had the pleasure of catching up with Cath Strachan in person following an event held at Aberdeen’s ONE Tech Hub by Scottish Business Network & The Scottish GovTech Cluster. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the fireside session with Mark Elliott, the head of CivTech Scotland. If you haven't had the chance to hear Mark Elliott speak, I highly recommend it, especially for those seeking to be innovative in the tech space. His insights are not only intriguing but refreshingly honest, and he has reshaped my perspective on engaging with and supporting the CivTech Scotland challenges. After the event, Cath and I took the opportunity to sit down and get to know each other. Beyond her evident entrepreneurial drive, Cath’s knowledge and her commitment to fostering meaningful connections to support SBN & Gov Tech is very inspiring and as a member of SBN, I am very grateful for her support in this.  But that’s not the only string in Cath’s bow and somehow I knew it wouldn’t be 😉 I asked the question, “what else do you do aside from the SBN and the gov-tech stuff?” I am so glad I asked this question as Cath went on to give me some really great topics that I need to think about practically for succession planning in my business, Cath's not just got many strings to her bow she’s got multiple bows !!!
