On this autumn morning, I went back to my experience at the #nbforum2024 hosted in Helsinki last month, the best leadership conference in Europe. As someone who has been going over leadership for years, digging and digging for more, I had in mind the goal to attend the show... one day.
Afterall, all I was waiting for, was the right motivation!
When #WillGuidara presence as a speaker was confirmed, early this year, I had to sign up.
The hot dog episode in this video was not new for me, as I got Will's book #unreasonablehospitality 2 days after its release, in November 22, and I have been sharing his stories in my group chats.
The thing that really touched me was how he was able to close the first day of the event, with a 6k diverse participants crowd, standing in ovation!
The message was simple, yet courageous. Will urged leaders to embrace hospitality as a core business strategy:
“The only competitive advantage that exists over the long term comes through hospitality - through creatively, generously, and consistently investing in relationships.”
If there were any other hoteliers in the Messukeskus arena, packed
with C-Levels, I was not able to perceive. However, I felt in sync and I got in
awe with how the restaurateur words inspired so many, rather than myself.
It was a kind of beautiful validation, for the sake of the hospitality industry and its impact in the world.
Hospitality competence is an indisputable skill for any industry.
