Our FBO team in Berlin are incredibly honoured to have been part of the “Return of the Wild Horses” mission. Przewalski horses, the last remaining true wild horses on Earth are being reintroduced to their natural habitat, marking a monumental step in conservation and the restoration of the Steppe ecosystem’s unique biodiversity. This is a remarkable achievement and highlights how our expertise in logistics supports vital environmental endeavours. We would like to thank the exceptional team at Tierpark Berlin for their invaluable efforts and continued work on this project. Welcome to "Merci, Krew!" – a passionate endeavor by Maison Krew dedicated to protecting and restoring our precious coral reefs. This teaser video provides a glimpse into our mission, the importance of coral reef conservation, and how we are harnessing community power and innovative technology to make a lasting impact. Why Coral Reefs? Coral reefs are the rainforests of the sea, home to 25% of all marine life. They provide vital resources for millions of people, offering food, income, and coastal protection. However, these vibrant ecosystems are under threat, with projections suggesting that up to 90% of coral reefs could be gone by 2050 if we don't take immediate action.

Nationalparks Austria This is membership in action! Our new member of the Digitize the Planet e.V. project is currently working entering his data into our platform to improve visitor guidance in their 7 national parks. Stephanie Blutaumüller, secretary General of the Nationalparks Austria: According to the understanding of the Austrian national parks, nature tourism can no longer be thought of in the future without nature conservation. With this in mind, National Parks Austria has been a member of Digitize the Planet since this year. Targeted visitor guidance is a tool to better protect sensitive areas and also reduce disturbances for wildlife. Digitize the Planet supports the national parks in making information about the protected areas easily accessible to visitors. We are all part of the problem - let´s all become part of the solution. What are the lessons we can apply from the global voluntary carbon market to a European context? How can we leverage carbon finance to scale up natural capital here in Europe? At a time of increased scrutiny of qualitative performance in carbon projects, how should domestic carbon credits fit into buyer portfolios? I’m looking forward to discussing these and more tomorrow with a great panel, hosted by UNEP-WCMC.
📣 Newsflash Our Director of Business Development, Will Close-Brooks, is joining a panel tomorrow to discuss the potential of voluntary carbon markets to drive ecosystem restoration in Europe. 📅 26th September ⏰11am – 13pm, BST 📍 Online and University of Cambridge Moderated by Lera Miles, this panel is part of an event to share the findings of ELP Understanding Voluntary Carbon Markets Project. The event is hosted by UNEP-WCMC, Endangered Landscapes Programme, Cambridge Conservation Initiative, RSPB and Fauna & Flora . #VoluntaryCarbonMarket #CarbonCredits #Restoration

Today, we celebrate World Rewilding Day, which honours the planet's life sustaining biodiversity as well as the efforts to restore and rejuvenate its natural ecosystems. At the Ecological Restoration Fund, we're proud to support rewilders worldwide, including The Wildlife Trusts, Rewilding Europe, Fundación Rewilding Chile, and the Beaver Trust. These organisations are at the forefront of ecological restoration, working to restore thriving habitats, bring back endangered species, and bring back the delicate balance of the planet's ecosystems. These organisations are developing innovative projects, and using community engagement, and scientific research. From reforesting landscapes to reintroducing keystone species and restoring wetlands, their work offers a hope for nature's recovery. #WorldRewildingDay #EcologicalRestoration #Rewilding #NatureRecovery #SustainableFuture #HopeIntoAction

In New Zealand, where the Maori named the land Aotearoa (“Land of the Long White Cloud”), a groundbreaking conservation effort is underway! This ambitious initiative aims to restore ecological balance by eradicating invasive predators like stoats, possums, and rats. These introduced mammals have devastated native bird populations. Imagine a New Zealand where the flightless Kakapo thrives and the Kiwi echoes through the night! Click the link below to learn more about #PredatorFreeNZ and how you can support this incredible mission for a balanced future. https://lnkd.in/e9T_TQWD

🌟 Diving into the heart of conservation at the North Wales workshop! 🏞️ Yesterday, passionate minds converged to explore shared values for preserving our natural gems. From identifying common ground to embracing our differences, we emerged with a collective vision: 1️⃣ Unified Conservation Values: Through engaging discussions, we crystallized values that bind us in safeguarding National Landscapes' beauty. These shared values add depth to personal beliefs, guiding our actions for a more impactful journey. 2️⃣ Personal-Collective Connection: Aligning personal values with the collective amplifies our impact, weaving a powerful tapestry of beliefs that enriches our connection to conservation efforts. 3️⃣ Shaping Tomorrow's Narrative: We envisioned narratives about Wales' National Landscapes' future, grounded in climate and biodiversity action. These stories will inspire action and shape perceptions for generations to come. Looking forward, we're applying the insights from this workshop to set ambitious goals and actions, using the GROW model to ensure accountability and drive effective change. Together, let's continue our commitment to nurturing and preserving the breathtaking landscapes of North Wales! 🌿💙 #NorthWalesWorkshop #NationalLandscapes #FutureNarratives #GROWmodel

Did you know that twenty percent of Poland's area is covered by Natura 2000 areas? 🍃 There are as many as 1,003 individual territories where nature is under special protection 💚 The #Natura2000 program covers the entire territory of the #EuropeanUnion. It aims to preserve specific types of natural habitats and species considered valuable and endangered throughout Europe. The joint action to preserve Europe's natural heritage based on uniform law aims to optimise costs and enhance environmentally beneficial effects 🌱 Natura 2000 appeared in Poland 20 years ago with the country’s accession to the European Union, becoming an opportunity to develop a pan-European approach to nature conservation and a guarantee of improving the situation of #endangeredspecies and #naturalhabitats 🐦🐏🦬🌳

The MPN aims to bring together different stakeholders such as authorities, scientists, professionals concerned with the protection of Posidonia oceanica.
At the last global meeting of the Mediterranean Posidonia Network on May 14, Christine PERGENT-MARTINI from the Université de Corse Pasquale Paoli presented the work of the MPN #restoration working group*: 👉“Guideline for the Active Restoration of Posidonia oceanica”. From this work the members of the MPN position themselves that replanting is possible only if: i) the meadow was present in the past, ii) the origin of destruction is known and under control, iii) the site is protected and its destruction is avoided. This is based on the idea that active restoration is a #conservationTool. #Restoration could be considered as successful when the ecosystem services and the functioning of the meadow recovers and has values similar to those of the unaltered seagrass meadow. It is estimated that the replanting of each bundle of Posidonia has a value of between 1.5 and 55€ and each square meter between 15 and 600€, but all the cost required (#passive restoration) are aften not taken into account in this estimation. We are together in the view that the solution is to prevent the #destruction of #Posidonia and #restoration must be part of the overall management strategy. 📅 The report will be available next month for all those who are interested in reading it.
