Ironically, just as we were at the LEAP exhibition in #Riyadh a Saudia Technic aircraft suffered a disastrous #birdstrike at Heathrow airport. Many approached our corner inside the Lenovo booth to ask for information and try to understand how this danger could be mitigated. It was indeed a somewhat fortunate coincidence, as everyone present at the fair, but not only, realised in just one day how much anyone is actually exposed to the danger of birdstrike. In addition to the danger, of course at stake are the millions of dollars to repair the aircraft wing that was badly damaged. Seeing the BCMS system in action at the fair, everyone in an obvious way wondered why there is not one at every airport. Because it is only after accidents have happened that you realise the value of prevention, the importance of making the airport perceived as a dangerous place for birds. This is the only way to reduce their numbers in areas where they are a danger and this can only be done by removing them from time to time, day by day by automated means supervised by humans. This is what we have done at the #Dhaka airport, where in one year we have reduced the presence of the birds by 45%, only thanks to the guidance provided by the BCMS to scare them away when they fly or stand in the #airport. #birdstrike #aviation #airsidesafety #bird #wildlifeprotection #flightsafety

Three Boeing 777 aircrafts covering a whopping 900 KM without taking flight! ✈️🚀 Yes, it is true. Saudia Airlines has remarkably moved three large, retired Boeing 777 planes from Jeddah to Riyadh by road to feature in the upcoming Riyadh Season 2024 Boulevard Runway zone. I've delved deep into this and discovered some key takeaways. - Saudia's team carefully removed aircraft parts for transport. - They used special cranes and equipment for loading of the parts. - They used special vehicles to carry the heavy aircraft fuselages. - The route was planned to avoid obstacles like bridges and tight streets. - They coordinated with local authorities to ensure safe passage. - Traffic flow was maintained without major disruptions. - This detailed planning ensured a smooth and safe journey for the aircraft. #EngineeringMarvel #projectCargo #breakbulk #boeing #AviationInnovation

What is the Difference Between Aviation operations vs flight operations? In aviation operations, we have all the activities performed in the aviation sector where it is related to general aviation, commercial or military aviation. For example, for the manufacturing of the aircraft aviation operation would be its designing, manufacturing, and making the aircraft airworthiness or fit to fly. Same as other operations in different departments of aviation which would be related to aircraft or airports are in aviation operations. Following are the examples of aircraft-related operations: • Manufacturing • Maintaining • Marking and coloring • Airworthy Some of the aviation operations related to airports are: • Safety • Security • Air traffic control service • Loading and unloading cargo/passengers Primarily all the airside operation falls under the umbrella of aviation operations but on the landside, we have some non-aviation operations there (food, shopping), etc. To understand what are flight operations let me give an example there was news that said that Serene Air had started its flight operation in Dubai which means that now Serene Airlines is flying to Dubai Airport from Pakistan. Flight operations are related to flying and with the help of this operation the aircraft safely fly to its desired destination. These include the following operations: • Flight planning • Security checks • Flight Dispatch • Operations Control • Navigation • Performance • Landing and Overflight Permits • Ground-to-air communications #Aviation #Flightoperatons #Aviationoperations #Airlines #Airports #Aircrafts #CommericalAviation

#Dubai is set to double its passenger footprint and spend $52 billion on an ambitious #investment and expansion project. The new #InternationalAirport, DWC Dubai, will be built at the DWC site in south of Dubai and eventually replace #DXB. The $52 billion airport will be about five times the size of DXB in its current state, accommodating 400 #aircraft gates, five parallel runways, and new aviation technologies. The new terminal will enable the #airport to handle a passenger capacity of 260 million annually, compared to Sydney Kingsford Smith International's three runways and around 60 gates. The goal is to complete the first phase within the next 10 years, boosting capacity to accommodate 150 million passengers annually. The airport will also offer passengers no queues, no suitcases, and more destinations and #flights. Dubai's airlines, #Emirates and Fly Dubai, already connect to over 100 destinations, but the number of flights will skyrocket with more runways facilitating air traffic. (Credit: Escape)

We are proud to take delivery of the 50th Airbus A320neo aircraft out of an order for 120 A320neo aircraft from Airbus at a reception held at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, as flynas moves ahead in its ambitious plan for growth, expansion, and increasing the fleet size. Taking delivery of the 50th aircraft comes within an order to purchase 120 A320neo aircraft from Airbus with a value exceeding 32 billion riyals, which was at the time the second largest purchase of A320neo aircraft in the Middle East, as a strategic step for flynas that gives a clear indication of the extent of development and growth in different sectors in the Kingdom, notably the aviation sector. The company moves forward in its ambitious plans to double the fleet size after the Board of Directors approved an increase in purchase orders to 250 aircraft, in line with flynas strategic plan launched under the title (We Connect the World to the Kingdom), in parallel with the objectives of the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP) to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques and the National Civil Aviation Strategy to enable national air carriers to contribute to connecting KSA with 250 International destinations and to accommodate 330 million passengers and to host 100 million tourists yearly by 2030. In parallel with upscaling flynas fleet, taking delivery of the new aircraft contributed to generating hundreds of quality jobs in the aviation sector directly and indirectly, as flynas recently announced the opening of applications in several programs, including the Future Pilots Program, Future Engineers Program, and the Cabin Crew Program for Saudi men and women.
