Are you ready to hire? I posted on here a while ago about making sure that you’re ready to recruit. I had a conversation with a candidate on Friday who after 3 weeks in her new role was told that the business wasn’t ready for her role and that they couldn’t afford her. The worst part about it is that she was working for a supposed ‘careers guru’ who has a bit of presence on LinkedIn. And is constantly bleating on about leadership when perhaps they needing to be looking closer to home instead!! I know things can happen and unfortunately not everything works out- but that just strikes me as someone really not being ready to take that next step for their business. I’d imagine this candidate isn’t alone in this too, I’m sure there’s lots of businesses out there that don’t properly think things through before hiring. Do better- make sure your business is ready to recruit and grow before you start the process let alone hire someone! And if you aren’t sure if you’re ready or not, then get in touch. These professionals have options, so if you’re hiring, it’s crucial to keep the process smooth and put your best offer forward. 🧑 HR roles, depending on the level, feel more employer-driven. There’s more flexibility for hiring teams, but that can vary based on the exact role and what’s required. Finding the right person means knowing your must-haves but staying open to possibilities.
