Key Responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining relationships with shippers, understanding their shipping needs, and providing freight transportation solutions.
- Identifying and vetting carriers to ensure they are reliable and can handle the specific type of cargo being transported.
- Negotiating rates, terms, and contracts with carriers to secure the best deals for the shipper and ensure profitability.
- Matching shippers' freight with appropriate carriers based on various factors such as cargo type, size, destination, and carrier capabilities.
- Managing paperwork, including arranging necessary permits, contracts, bills of lading, and other documentation required for the transportation of goods.
- Resolving any issues or challenges that may arise during transportation, such as delays, damage to cargo, or changes in delivery schedules.
- Handling financial transactions, invoicing, and ensuring payments are made to carriers and received from shippers in a timely manner.
- Staying informed about transportation regulations and ensuring compliance with legal requirements, permits, and safety standards.
