Here are three uplifting stories that inspire us daily: [1] Tony: Found on the roadside in a paralyzed state, Tony endured severe spine pain. With dedicated medical attention, physical therapy, and infrared treatment, Tony can now walk and is living contentedly in our care, awaiting a forever home. [2] Benzie: After being struck by a car and left immobile, Benzie arrived at our hospital terrified. Through persistent care from our team, she regained strength in her back legs and can now walk again. Benzie is safe and flourishing with us. [3] Mouse: Rescued in critical condition, Mouse's recovery has been nothing short of miraculous thanks to continuous treatment, love, and care. Fully vaccinated and sterilized, Mouse is now friendly with both people and other dogs, ready to find a new family. These transformations are possible because of your support. https://lnkd.in/g7TVhM4U Rayo LOVES fetching (golden retriever after all 😅) and even though he gets physically tired, it over stimulates his mind, which is not good for him. We still playing fetch, because I know that’s something that he enjoys, but I try to give him extra activities that are good for him. Like in the mornings we take 10-15 min to practice or improve some skills and after that we exercise his sniffing 🙂 This is good for them because it’s a brain workout and help them to reduce stress and anxiety. Some experts say that 15-20 minutes of sniffing are equivalent to one hour of walk in terms of enrichment. Also there’s plenty of ways that your dog can exercise their sniffing. I love this organization for so many important reasons. 1. 70% of domestic violence survivors (families) stay when a pet is involved. Why? For so many of us, our pets are truly family. The reality is that most DV programs do their best to help humans but haven’t had the ability / resources to help animals. If you leave, the only option is to put your pet into the SPCA for 2 weeks. Who can create a new life in 2 weeks? 2. They are first responders when we have hurricanes, tornadoes, natural disasters. These events have an impact on people - but there is also a significant impact on animals. Most are stranded and unable to survive - not because people don’t care…just because it’s survival. Meet Scarlett: She was diagnosed with lupus at just two years old after contracting a respiratory virus. Her parents were told that she had less than a 1-in-10 chance of survival after her diagnosis, yet she steadily improved despite the odds.
