Milestones Alert! My one time employer once told me, "Harrison, it's a big deal!" we were launching our first three trucks on this day. This stuck and made sense when I realized that the journey we both embarked on, started on that wonderful day. Last month, Truckiah delivered it's 100th trip. That's over 3000MT of cargo, over 25,000 safe kms. A fete that has taken us over 365 days to achieve. Proud is an understatement. I want to salute my TEAM, those sacrifices define our journey. Our handful clients, for trusting us and our transport partners. On to the next 100 trips, this time in less than a year. #Logistics #SupplyChain #Transport #GreenLogistics

🚛 With only 207 designated Heavy Vehicle Rest Areas across our state, every space counts! Heavy Vehicle Rest Areas (HVRAs) are crucial spaces for our transport industry, where truck drivers make short stops, perform load checks, complete logbooks, and have their compulsory fatigue breaks. Heavy Vehicle Drivers have a legal obligation and responsibility to stop and manage their fatigue when moving goods around the state. They are required to rest regularly and log their travel, however, they have fewer options available to them regarding where they can stop and rest. So, let’s work together to keep these HVRAs free for our trucking community to pull up and rest. 💡 If you’re stopping overnight, aim to park up in one of the more than 1500 dedicated light vehicle rest areas across the state (find out where they are👉https://whttps://brnw.ch/21wGI0O) 💡 Remember to park courteously, set up off the road, and leave enough room for our truckies to rest safely. For more information about heavy vehicles in WA visit https://brnw.ch/21wGI0M

If you're not paying attention, you're missing out something big happening right now in the container haulage and chassis space. There are several key aspects of this discussion that warrant highlighting. From my understanding, this ruling does not necessarily imply a mandate for grey pools, despite claims I've frequently encountered. I'm eager to delve deeper into why some argue that this ruling compels the use of grey pools and how such assertions can be justified. From my interpretation, the ruling simply prohibits Ocean Carriers from withdrawing from pools in areas where multiple carriers operate, rather than restricting the launch of proprietary pools in specific regions. What are your thoughts on this?
So this is a pretty big deal… Federal Maritime Commission has upheld the findings of the ALJ in the “Chassis Choice” lawsuit.. While the #oceancarriers like to claim they have been out of the #chassis business, fact of the matter is that lately, they have not only been IN the chassis business, but have basically been colluding to exert total control on what type of #chassis a #drayage operator can use in many #MerchantHaulage arrangements. Just as the Harbor Trucking Association “Chassis Box Rules” White Paper had highlighted last year - requiring a #drayage carrier to use a #chassis of a certain flavor on #MerchantHaulage is the epitome of control. Not anymore! (Well at least in Chicago, Los Angeles/Long Beach, Memphis and Savannah - for now) Kudos to the American Trucking Associations for sticking it out through the fight. Of course, while this saga is likely not over, what is over (effectively immediately) is that #oceancarriers can no longer require the use of a specific #chassis in #MerchantHaulage arrangements. Seems pretty cut and dry. Any thoughts on this historic ruling from my fellow “Container Aficionados” ? Definitely looking forward to some coverage on this from Ari Ashe at S&P Global and the Journal of Commerce as well as our friends at Transport Topics, the The Wall Street Journal and many others. https://lnkd.in/g8Pa99Un

Just a friendly reminder, we're about a month away from Blitz week. Shippers as you're starting to plan your freight keep in mind May 14 - May 16 the CVSA (Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance) will be conducting safety inspections. It's estimated that 15 trucks are inspected every minute during this 72hr period. Drivers may be running late and you may see a dip in capacity. Some drivers decide to take vacation during this time in order to not risk getting a fine, lowering their safety score or having to be out of service until the issue is resolved. No reason to panic just something to keep in mind while planning your freight. 💡 In 2023, across the US, Mexico and Canada 59,429 commercial motor vehicles were inspected. Last year there were 17,479 vehicle out-of-service violations in total. 81% of Commercial Motor Vehicles and 94.5% of Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers did not have any out of service violations. Official results below ⬇

60,000 - that's about the number of truck drivers the American Trucking Associations says the industry is missing. On this episode of the 10-44, we're diving into how a shortage of drivers impacts safety and risk in trucking.

Standards: this word has been on my mind a lot lately and I’ve been wondering about how we maintain them whether at individual or organizational level. What’s the driving force or is it who? I have always been proud of being one of the early adopters of ehailing taxi services in SA and have enlisted family, friends and colleagues over the years to make use of one in particular. But over the course of a number of years, I have noticed a serious decline in the standards, whether it’s cleanliness of the vehicles or courteousness of the drivers. So I changed from the standard to Black category. But to my shock and horror, even in this so-called premium category, a driver can arrive with a filthy, smelly car and expect to collect a fee, even a cancellation fee if the passenger (me) refuses to take a ride in a sub-standard car. There are so many examples of this in communities, once safe, clean and proud but unrecognisable today. Businesses that once used to be known for the best service, quality products and well-trained employees become mediocre and unattractive to deal with. How does it happen that fall apart to this extent?

During Public Service Recognition Week, we're shining the spotlight on a group that provides vital services to motorists and first responders. ADOT's Incident Response Unit, sponsored by GEICO, helps boost safety by getting traffic moving sooner after crashes. The IRU team's daily work ranges from setting up traffic control to moving vehicles involved in minor crashes to removing debris and even changing a flat tire here and there. IRU team members respond to about 12,000 incidents annually. Their No. 1 goal is to reduce crashes and keep motorists and responders safer. Once IRU operators arrive, they can improve traffic flow after crashes and reduce the possibility of secondary collisions, which often are more serious than the initial crash, while helping motorists get where they need to be. While IRU works to keep everyone else safer, we can help them stay safe by slowing down and moving over one lane to give them space to do their work. #GEICOSafetyPatrol
