NewSpace came of age a while ago. It’s a perfectly valid and cost effective approach for LEO applications, and the trend is pushing outwards to NewSpace GEO and lunar applications too. Complete datasets always lag a trend, and if you’ve been waiting for some kind of sign that newSpace has arrived then its already too late. The current trend is the mushing together and blending of NewSpace and Traditional. The sector is becoming more sophisticated and those leading the pack are starting to apply high quality assurance processes in a more targeted, efficient way. It’s no longer a case of applying a sledgehammer of onerous documentation and process across a whole project, but surgical, precise PA and QA processes where they add value, and ONLY where they add value.
