There's certainly a lot to love about this article and it absolutely made the rounds recently, but more so the story itself. We consisently tell folks "We'd invest in any business that has been on Mike Rowe's Dirty Jobs" (and would put that on our website if it wasn't likely copyright infringement) and you're starting to see, properly, respect given to those hard working folks that we at Evolution cherish working with.
It's a bit of love and fear - Love for our teams. Fear that others will realize, too, that this is actually the best market to invest in: great people, essential businesses, aligned incentives, and principled, value-supported cultures.
Sure, this article highlights what, in private equity, is a story past its prime (if it's already in the WSJ, the value/opportunity is likely already gone). But here's to hoping that, years from now, after we've been able to invest with the best and brightest, they too will be recognized in the same fashion. But not before we can build those businesses, find more, and grow them via strategic and accretive acquisitions. And we've had a blast along the way.
Until then, our guys remain our heroes. Shout out from Stenning Schueppert, Ken Nguyen, Sean Ryan, Stephanie Stokes and Heather Henning Schueppert and cheers to Manny González, Jerry Cavitt, Kim Cosco, Brandon Kircher, Mike Palermo, Leonard Meredith, Carson Bowen, Michael Lusinger, Chris Maltese, Michael Jannace, Ryan Beaubeouf, Nicholas Wilkinson, Paul Tyree, Ty Johnson and all the teams Ethoscapes, Allied Underground, DiPonio Contracting, Inc., Amped Electric, and Sentry Safety Solutions!
Love to y'all.
