Would you agree that being authentic is the foundation of purpose? To find purpose through our work, we must be able to make genuine connections and build trusted relationships with others, including those we share our workspace with. However, before we can be authentic, there should be a foundation of self-awareness. Like purpose, authenticity comes from a real place within us. Often, we can sense when someone is authentic or not. Have you ever noticed that when people feel safe, they tend to be themselves? Conversely, if there's an issue of trust, people may avoid them instead. Here are some ways to encourage authenticity and purpose in the workplace. Have a great Friday! Be authentic. Authenticity is a value that has exploded into the workplace culture! Are we actively choosing to be inauthentic? Or do we really know what being authentic looks like? And abruptly can be met with “If I’m authentic, then what?” 🤔 Will I be successful? Will I get promoted? Will I fit in with my colleagues? Many times we are trying to uncover what we believe to be our “authentic self” but have not taken the time to acknowledge the times when we don’t feel our authentic self. Thought: “I believe I’m naturally outgoing” Action: “Interact and converse with every colleague I see/run into” (duh because this is what outgoing people do) Challenge: “Don’t try and look for your authentic self, rather note when you are not being authentic.” (Seems obvious) But how? When are you not saying no? ❌ When are you not saying yes? ✅ Sometime we have to let our instincts tell us what’s authentic to us because our brains 🧠 can convince us otherwise. What has your gut shown you to be authentic to you? ❓❔

🌟 Embracing Authenticity: Honoring Your True Self and Living in Alignment 🌟 Hey LinkedIn community, Today, I want to reflect on the incredible journey of embracing authenticity and living in alignment with our true selves. 🙌✨ In a professional world that often emphasizes conformity and masks, let's choose a different path - one that embraces vulnerability, self-discovery, and self-acceptance. Authenticity takes courage. It's about uncovering our true selves and bringing that genuine essence to our professional lives. When we do, something remarkable happens. We create a space where our passions, values, and talents can truly thrive. 🌻🌿 Living authentically means honoring who we are at our core and showing up as our genuine selves, no matter the circumstances. It's about embracing our unique qualities, perspectives, and experiences. 💖 But let's acknowledge that living authentically in the professional world can be challenging. It requires introspection, self-reflection, and making choices that align with our values. It means staying true to ourselves, even when faced with obstacles. 🌟 However, our authenticity has an incredible impact on those around us. Our genuine interactions, empathetic approach, and ability to forge meaningful connections create an environment of trust and collaboration. We inspire others to embrace their own authenticity and bring their whole selves to work. By embracing authenticity, we challenge traditional norms and expectations. We remind ourselves and others that success and fulfillment can be achieved by being true to who we are. We can build careers of purpose and meaning when we align our work with our passions and values. 💫 So today, let's celebrate our journey of authenticity in the professional realm. Let's be proud of our unique contributions, strengths, and growth. Let's continue to shine brightly, honoring our true selves and encouraging others to do the same. Together, we can create a workplace where authenticity is valued and embraced. 🌟❤️. Happy Tuesday. Happy holiday❤️💡 #EmbraceAuthenticity #LiveInAlignment #BeYourself #AuthenticLiving #ProfessionalDevelopment #CareerSuccess #growth #development #linkedlnconnection

Accompanying and guiding enterprising families and their members navigate their challenges I Board Member I Family Business & Family Office Consulting | Writer | Philanthropy & Sustainability | Consultant & Advisor @fbcg
True happiness is achieved when there is coherence between our thoughts, our words, and our actions. This means that our internal beliefs and values must be consistently reflected in what we say and how we act. When we manage to align our intentions, words, and behaviors, we avoid internal and external conflicts, allowing us to live more authentically and in peace with ourselves and others. This principle has taught me to behave with the same love and passion in any environment, whether in the family or professional sphere. Being a person of integrity means not putting on different faces depending on the situation or the person you are with. Although there are times when we need to emphasize certain qualities over others, we should never lose our essence or compromise our integrity. Authenticity and coherence not only generate trust and respect but also create a complete flow of harmony that benefits both ourselves and those around us. My advice for everyone is to live according to your values at all times; it is the key to a fulfilling and satisfying life. __ 💼 #FamilyBusiness #Integrity #LeadershipWithPurpose The Family Business Consulting Group, Inc. 💡Reflecting on "Ashes to Ashes": Compassion and Respect at Work 💡 Beyond its spiritual connotations, this concept holds a profound message in my long and winding professional path. As we navigate the complexities of our careers, it's crucial to remember that, at our core, we are all temporary. Thus the importance of treating one another with respect and kindness, especially in the workplace. Our interactions, no matter how small, leave lasting impressions that go beyond our temporary roles and positions. In a world driven by deadlines, targets, and competition, I refuse to forget the power of compassion. It is, after all, the one legacy that endures. By fostering an environment of mutual respect, understanding, and empathy, we not only enhance our work experience but also contribute to a culture that values and honours the human spirit. I sincerely hope that a greater number of individuals can recognize the temporary essence of our existence as a compelling invitation to become more compassionate and respectful colleagues. Narcissism and egotism, without a doubt, hold no power to disrupt the cycles of both work and life. Ultimately, it is only through compassion that we can leave a meaningful trace that extends beyond our individual presence. #WorkplaceCulture #Compassion #Respect #ProfessionalGrowth #EmpathyInAction

Embracing Authenticity in the Workplace In a world that often pressures us to conform, being your true, authentic self in the workplace is not just a brave act—it is essential. Authenticity fosters genuine connections, enhances creativity, and nurtures a culture of trust and respect. When you bring your whole self to work, you unlock your unique strengths, perspectives, and passions, which in turn, drives both personal and organizational growth. The fear of not fitting in or the pressure to conform can lead to burnout, stress, and a sense of disconnection from both your work and your colleagues. On the other hand, environments that encourage authenticity enable individuals to thrive. Here, you can innovate freely, express ideas without fear, and collaborate with others in a way that is both fulfilling and impactful. Being authentic does not mean being perfect. It means embracing your individuality and allowing your true self to shine, even in moments of vulnerability. When you stand firm in who you are, you not only empower yourself but also inspire others to do the same. As the renowned author Brené Brown wisely said, “Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are.” By embracing your authentic self, you create a ripple effect that transforms your work environment into a place of growth, connection, and true fulfillment. #bewhereyourhappy #beyourself #wearingmasksisheavy

Ever felt like you had to wear a mask at work to fit in? 🎭 👺 Over the years, I have observed and learned a lot about this. I know we talk about how authenticity feels good – both to receive and to give. But what happens when our authentic selves are somehow deemed insufficient? 🤷♂️ I’ve seen colleagues …cry in the bathroom after every team meeting …put on their “work face”, only to exhaust themselves by the end of each day and crash each night, completely depleted …anxiously try to hype themselves up on the outside because “only extroverts get promoted” All of these people were talented. ❗ All of these people were dedicated to their teams. ❗ All of these people were trying to hide a part of themselves that was somehow deemed “wrong” or “unworthy”, despite them just putting their best foot forward and being themselves. ❗ And you know what I honestly took away from these experiences? The cruelty of asking someone to be someone they’re not. The cruelty of telling someone their best, highest-performing, most-genuine self wasn’t right or enough. These people were depressed. And miserable at work. And it was all carrying over to their personal lives. How we treat each other matters. How we regard each other matters. The messages we send about what’s acceptable or celebrated matter. Culture matters. ⛳ We all NEED and DESERVE to work in peace as ourselves. It’s the only person we’ll ever be good at being. And it’s the only person we can be at peace with. ☮ Let’s all accept and celebrate each other for who we are. 🎉 ❤️ #leadershipadvice #authenticity #culturematters
