Empowering rural communities through Community Development and Livelihood Improvement Project (CDLIP) :IRD Model of Sri Lanka
The Community Development and Livelihood Improvement Project (CDLIP) is a world Bank-funded rural development program in Sri Lanka that intends to empower rural communities to form, strengthen, and maintain institutional mechanisms. The project aims for self-decision making, planning, resource mobilization, implementation, and monitoring. The program operates as a village organization or people's company, involving small groups and Village Organizations (VO) to form savings and credit organizations.

The number one criteria for every Freedom Tree project is community ownership.
In every initiative, including the construction of the school in Project Bhlama, the local community leads the way, taking ownership of the progress and making things happen alongside us.
We believe that lasting change comes when communities are empowered to take action for themselves. It’s about creating sustainable solutions, where the people directly benefit and have the tools and knowledge to continue thriving long after the project is complete.
We also believe in togetherness, the community needs to work together to solve the issues at hand. Ownership is very important.
Your generosity fuels this journey, but it’s the strength and determination of the community that drives it forward.
We are not just building a school—we’re building hope, freedom, and a future.

In fostering, it's often the smallest acts that make the biggest impact. From bedtime stories to shared meals, every moment matters.

From 40 goats to 153 goats.
Did you know that small investments in projects targeting older people in rural areas can significantly enhance both their economic well-being and psychosocial life?
A revolving goat project in Muleba District supported by Tanzania Development Trust is a good example.
By providing older people with goats, we not only empower them economically through the sale of milk, meat, and offspring but also provides a sense of purpose and fulfillment, reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness commonly experienced by older people in rural areas.
Additionally, the social interaction in managing a goat project can foster community connections and strengthen social support networks among older individuals.
More appreciation to Tanzania Development Trust for their continued support. Together, we are building a brighter future for older people in need.

Hello #LinkedIn Family!
We're pleased to announce that SPRINKTECH LIMITED's latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative! 🌟 will be on in early July 2024, we're focusing on improving water access for those in need, and we need your help to make it happen.
👉 As part of our water access initiative, we aim to install a borehole at an orphanage around or within Kampala. This project not only allows us to give back to the community but also strengthens our team spirit through meaningful volunteerism. 💧❤️
Here’s how you can help: 👇
Identify an Orphanage: If you know of any orphanages in Kampala that would benefit from a solar water pumping system, please share their details with us. The orphanage should have an existing water source (a well).
👉 Our Contribution: We will provide a solar water pumping system and handle the installation.
👉 Let’s come together to create a lasting impact and bring clean water to those who need it most. Visit us at https://lnkd.in/d7xPMbqb for more details about the initiative!
🎤 Please share your suggestions for any orphanage you know that fits the criteria. Together, we can make a difference! 🌍💙
