Very nice sharing by my colleague Muhammad Nadeem Majeed (PMP)® in Whatsapp group. The original post is: A student who got 3.8 CGPA is unhappy because another student got 4 CGPA. The student with 4 CGPA is unhappy because he/she is not placed in a Core Company. Student placed in a Core Company is unhappy because his colleague has more salary than him/her. The person having the highest salary in a company is unhappy because he/she has no time at all to enjoy their life with friends and family. This is what happens when you get trapped in the infinite rat race. You are never happy. And you will never appreciate or be grateful for the life you have. Come out of the Rat Race. Art by: Steve Cutts Students face a similar situation during graduation. Those with a CGPA below 3.0 feel unhappy because they need at least a 3.0 to get a reasonable job. Students with a CGPA above 3.0 feel unhappy because they need above a 3.5 to secure good jobs and admission abroad. Even students with a CGPA above 3.5 feel unhappy because big companies are not hiring due to the recession, and education scholarships to study abroad are decreasing for the same reason. My #conclusion is that neither having a high CGPA nor #competition is inherently bad. What is bad is #unhealthy competition. I remember during our school days, we had competitions to get #Excellent on homework and full marks on class tests. We worked hard to meet our goals without feeling tense or envious of others. The biggest problem now is the #negative energy from the #rat race. This negative energy stops you from working #efficiently. Therefore, it is #recommended to look to others for suggestions, guidance, and exploring possibilities, but avoid the rat race—it is truly harmful.

Let's forget the biscuits. And just remember the teachers who truly cared for us. It was the Old boys annual reunion last week. And one of the batches that was celebrating their 25th anniversary collected a tidy sum to pay back to their teachers. I remember when we did it, there were some who did not come to terms. There were some teachers they didn't have pleasant memories about :) When my daughter was little, there was this teacher who used to pick on her. Didn't need any particular reason. But there was also an assistant teacher who consoled her and made her sing a song to her. And that used to cheer both of them up :) We had a lot of passionate teachers in our times. Though the salary and the perks weren't that great, they did what they did - really well. Most of them. Now when we look back, everyone is getting rewarded. Year on year. Like NSC returns. I'm not complaining. Neither are the teachers. But it's a thought that the teachers of today should ponder on. Did I make a difference in a student's life? Did I make it easier to understand something? Am I teaching as a forever learner? It's for such teachers that we celebrate Teacher's day. Maybe we need a few more every year. What do you think?
