[𝗕𝗖 - 𝗕𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗱] Meet Ms. Ngoc Tran (Carol) - Former President of RMIT Vietnam Business Club SGS, Project Leader of Marketing Challengers Season 10, and Public Relations Leader of The Logisticom Season 5. “Looking back on my time at RMIT Vietnam Business Club SGS, I'm grateful for the personal growth and professional development it provided. Before joining the club, I was active in other organizations, but becoming a member of BiCier took my leadership and networking skills to the next level. I dedicated my university years to the club - instead of internships or part-time work, I was fully involved in the BC community for 3 years. Looking back, even though I regretted not participating in any professional working environment outside of university, I am still thankful for the time I spent in the club. This experience in BC shaped me tremendously, giving me practical leadership experience and helping me build lasting connections. My proudest achievement was leading Marketing Challengers Season 10 (Marcha) as a project leader. Before this role, I didn't have many major accomplishments I could feel genuinely proud of. Marcha was a turning point, allowing my hard work and dedication to shine. Of course, it wasn't always smooth sailing. But overcoming those struggles taught me flexibility and problem-solving. Most importantly, the success of Marcha gave me confidence in my abilities. It was a chance to evaluate my skills and realize my potential. To describe my experience with BC, I'd say it was 'super tiring' I took on multiple leadership roles while studying full-time! But I have no regrets. If I hadn't become so involved, there would have been consequences too, like missing connections with many impressive seniors. Of course, joining the club came with both rewards and demands. Looking back, I can laugh and say I worked 'super hard' during those formative years. The tiredness was worth it for the relationships, skills and memories I gained. BC enabled us to have the privilege of working alongside many senior members who were deeply respected. Observing and collaborating with their leadership styles allowed me to reflect and improve. BC's values and culture resonated most strongly with me of all the organizations I've been part of. I was not a natural leader in the beginning. But through meeting challenges head-on, I confronted my weaknesses. The pressure to meet expectations pushed me the most. Despite the difficulty, I emerged with stronger resilience and self-belief. I realized progress requires stumbles - the more I fell, the more I learned. Developing mental strength to pick me back up was crucial. Of limitless options, I'd choose RMIT Vietnam Business Club SGS without hesitation. The club transformed me and built my skills and confidence before entering the workforce. Within BC, I have found my safe place to glow up.” -Ngoc Tran (Carol) #RMITVietnam #RMITVietnamBusinessClubSGS #BCBeContinued #LifeatBC

🌟 What an Incredible Day with The Goring Hotel’s Team! 🌟 Yesterday, I had the pleasure of facilitating a truly inspiring session with The Goring's Heads of Departments, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to host it than at the beautiful Broadwick Soho. We explored ideas, challenged perspectives, and mapped out the future of the hotel together. We kicked off by imagining The Goring’s story five years from now—what would a magazine headline say? From there, we reviewed what’s working, shared a few laughs, and got real about the areas that we can elevate! 👏 The Innovation Stations had everyone buzzing with fresh ideas on guest engagement, service excellence, and teamwork. A personal highlight was the Cultural Jenga activity, where each block revealed what makes The Goring unique and how we can build on that foundation. The energy was contagious, and it reminded us that culture isn’t just what we say but what we all do every day. And, of course, we wrapped up by spotlighting the rising stars in the team through a Star Search speed session — recognising the people who are already making a difference and are set to lead the way. At Umbrella Training Ltd we’re not just about apprenticeships. We’re here to deliver the tailored solutions your business needs to grow and thrive. Huge thanks to everyone for your openness, enthusiasm, and fantastic insights. Here’s to more days like this! 🎉🌱 #HospitalityTraining #Leadership #Culture #Teamwork #UmbrellaTraining

Challenging Assumptions This year, I committed myself to trying out new things, one of which happened to be golf. Given this, I signed up to join the Golf Club at University College Dublin. Let me tell you about one particular event that challenged my perceptions. Our club decided to switch things up and try a new location for our last event of the semester. When I looked up the address on Google Maps, I was surprised to find it was located on the third floor of a shopping plaza. My initial reaction was disbelief – I mean, a golf course on the third floor of a building? It didn't fit my preconceived notion of what a golf course should be like, as I had always associated golf with vast outdoor courses. Despite my reservations, I followed the directions to the third floor. To my surprise, I found an indoor mini-golf course. It was a different experience from what I had expected, but I enjoyed every moment. This experience got me thinking. It made me realize how often we have a fixed idea of what things should be like, which can sometimes close our eyes to exciting new opportunities. It's a reminder always to keep an open mind and be willing to challenge our assumptions. I've learned that embracing change, even when initially overwhelming, can lead to discovering new and unexpected opportunities. Stepping out of our comfort zones and being open to new experiences is where growth and learning happen. So, if there's one thing I'd like to share with all of you, it's this: don't be afraid to question your assumptions, embrace change, and explore new opportunities. You never know what exciting experiences and insights might be waiting for you on the third floor of a shopping plaza. #GolfClub #NewOpportunities #EmbracingChange

VP, Engagement Strategy & Corporate Services at Next Level Performance, and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Incentive Research Foundation
Demand for All-Inclusives has been on the rise in the last few years. I think that's for 2 big reasons: 1. It's easier to set a budget that won't have any surprises. 2. It takes some pressure off of participants who are already dealing with inflation by reducing or eliminating out of pocket expenses. There are a number of great new options coming online from hotels to cruises.
IRF Invitational 2024 Breakout Session Panelists Announced! Karen Devine, CITP, Kevin V Edmunds, MS, CITP, Patty (Sabo) Karsten, and Freddy Muller will discuss What's New: All-Inclusive, Land & Sea. ICF Certified Executive Coach & Consultant | Ex-Fortune 200 Senior Technology Executive | Leadership Fanatic | Podcast Host
From time to time, I see examples of what I like to call Bonafide Leadership in action. Last week, I was one of several volunteers from my church on a basketball mission trip in a Caribbean country; in the heart of communities most of us have never seen because we visit that part of the world as tourists! I served as one of the basketball coaches; yep your boy has some game, even still. One coach noticed a camper's basketball shoes were jacked (sole tearing in half), and instinctively, without thinking about her own needs, or whether the boy had stinky feet, or whether he might damage her shoes, or whether he might try to steal them, she gave him hers. There was no announcement made, in fact, I’m not sure anyone else on our trip knew about this selfless act of kindness, but I was an eyewitness because it was one of my campers. Isn't it a beautiful thing, when leaders take actions that directly serve others and then seek no recognition or praise, either privately or publicly for their actions? The coach just wanted this kid to have the opportunity to be at his best, and truly expected nothing in return. Let me be clear, as coaches our job was to coach, not to loan our shoes to kids. But Bonafide Leaders see a need and then they meet it! Leaders, here's the question - what can you give that would cost you nothing other than a minor inconvenience, that could potentially make the day of someone else? Most often for senior leaders, it’s our time and attention. Here's food for thought; attending the end of summer intern presentations in a few weeks from now might be a minor inconvenience to you (although you'll be surprised what you learn), but would truly make the day of those interns, while sending a powerful message to the interns and others in the room about your belief in your future leaders. Selflessness and kindness - not sure why these went out of style in corporate boardrooms, offices, and cubicles. Let’s bring it back! And, it starts with you. #kindness #selfless #time #leadership #management #bonafideleaders Want to become a more Bonafide Leader?
