Here is some exciting information on On-Premise wine data by Country of Origin from nearly 50,000 accounts surveyed: 1. Unsurprisingly, American wine is the most represented country in American Restaurants. France is #3 by number of accounts, and Italy is #2 in more than 27% more accounts than France! 2. France is #2 by the total number of placements on the wine lists in America, beating Italy at #3 by over 16%! 3. American wines are only out-placed in two markets in the U.S.; France is the #1 most-placed country on wine lists in New York and D.C.!

The latest report on the Italian wine market in the USA paints a bleak picture. Despite a slight increase in imports by 1.1%, consumption has plummeted by 9.5%. This sharp decline highlights the struggle of the Italian wine sector amidst broader economic challenges and uncertainties. Probably, this is the key to understand the current situation. The U.S. market, a significant importer of Italian wines, shows waning interest, with local wines dominating consumption and Italian wines facing a tough competitive landscape.
