Today in class reading on being a steady leader, it really hit today. This last weekend we had a fair in our teeny tiny rural county. It wasnt a county fair but a town fair. They call it "The Worlds Smallest Fair" It was fun, and the kids won cash prizes too. Very inclusive as we are a melting pot of mostly Causcasion/Native American mix people. BEAUTIFUl! Jobs should be like this! So let me brag a minute. Every year they have a challenge called Plank Race. My kids are always at eachoher necks and even chores that might require teamwork are done with scorn and agruing. God bless them babies. They will learn 🤣. My kids volunteered themselves all on one team, And they won! Ages 10,13,14,16 They won 1st place even against the towns adults. I was so excited! They can do anything they put their minds too! No blaming and no putting it off on someone else! Video is just something I found on Google. #leadership #steady #teamwork #adaptive #challenge #conflict #personaldevelopement #growth #mindset

Sometimes, the most difficult part of group benefits is explaining how they work to the team. When we talked to Juwan from the Hopi Tribe Economic Development Corporation, he told us the biggest challenge is communicating the nuances of how benefits work to the team. "The greatest challenge was, and still kind of still is, [trying to explain and educate about what benefits are and how they work]. I think it is very overwhelming for them. That’s the part where I'm dealing with making that connection with them and helping to make it clear to them so they can understand it." Reducing roadworker exposure has been a real focus area across highway networks over the last few years, given the ever-increasing complexity of infrastructure projects and the increase in roadworker abuse. Many network operators are turning to #bodycam #technology to deter/de-escalate and record these incidents and to help with remote support for those on the ground. As part of #respectourworkforce week our little campaign will be taking to the road next week with a series of public engagement events in Norwich, Cambridge, Peterborough and .... wait for it ... Newport Pagnell Supported by National Highways and the police as well as key supply chain partners the aim of our road trip is to have dialogue with members of the public and hopefully engage them as to why it is not acceptable to abuse those working on the public highway who are out there to make their journey's smoother and less disruption free. A vital element of the campaign and indeed the wider programme is, and always will be, education of those who travel upon the public highways and this is an integral part of delivering our message that abuse of all of those in public facing roles is simply unacceptable. Blue-collar workers aren't concerned about career growth. I've heard it many times, but I cannot tell you how... Inaccurate that statement is. In fact, it's mind-blowing even to have those words spoken. Everyone I talk to in our companies deeply cares about → 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 → 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐲 → 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 One of my favorite things about acquiring and operating blue-collar businesses is getting to know the strengths of each team member. It's one area that most owners struggle with. I recently got to talk to one of our team leads about a new position we are creating in the company - and he's the perfect fit. I took advantage of catching him in his environment to encourage and recognize him for all he does. Then, get him excited about this new opportunity. Never count out anyone on your team, thinking they don't care about their future. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦.
