What's it like to become the sole female holder of a Control Systems Engineering license? Meet Elise Backstrom, P.E., PMP, a Mechanical Engineer at Exyte in the USA. Drawn to engineering from a young age, Elise's career began as a Graduate Engineer. Through dedication and growth, she has become the only woman in Arizona to hold both a Control Systems Engineering License and a Mechanical Engineering License. “In the entire state, there are approximately five men who also hold these qualifications, but so far, I am the only woman. Exyte has really supported me in achieving this and earning my Professional Engineering License,” says Elise.
