I agree with this if the purpose of goal setting is a tick box exercise or where management want to use it as a stick, but this should not be the case. Goals should be linked to core duties and strategic intent, and should drive performance in the business. In other words, your goals should be distilled down and linked to the core KPIs. Having the owner of the goals participate in the goal setting process gives ownership and validation. For those with aptitude to perform at a higher level, the line manager should be encouraging this to be a stretched target and part of a formal Personal Development Plan with a clear route to promotion.

"I've got no more goals left in me,"- anyone who has worked in corporate America for 15 years or more. It's very much okay NOT to find purpose in your 9-5 or use your job to support other more important areas of your personal life. It's okay NOT to be interested in moving up the corporate ladder or just doing enough (as required by your job) and being done with it. These things don't make you a bad employee. It's Thursday, y'all. #thursdaythoughts #job #employeeadvocacy

“Networking is back in style,” states Nela Richardson, chief economist at ADP. As an executive recruiter in the CPG realm, I can’t recall a time it ever went out of vogue. In our industry, relationships are the lifeblood. Knowing who’s hiring and matching them with top talent is our daily grind. New York Times confirms what we’ve always known—networking is crucial, especially when hiring slows. It’s a game-changer for candidates. Working with a recruiter leverages these networks. We ensure you’re not just a name in the pile but a standout contender. Planning to explore new opportunities this fall? Let’s connect.

Celebrating six years of RE:DISCOVER this week has been a moment of reflection for me. Four years ago, I was drawn to this business for several reasons that continue to drive me every day. Firstly, the opportunity to recruit internationally has allowed me to immerse myself in diverse markets, employment trends, and laws. Working across different time zones, from early mornings with Australia to late nights with the US, has given me the freedom to recruit anywhere, and I absolutely love it! Secondly, the categories we represent are filled with genuine NPD and technological advancements. The constant innovation in the categories we recruit for keeps our work exciting, with something new and category-defining always on the horizon. Thirdly, our brilliant candidates and clients are the backbone of our success. We are so lucky to have their trust as we support them in making significant life and business decisions. Finally, the team at RE:DISCOVER is nothing short of fantastic. Working alongside great friends like Craig Sharman and Astrid Sharman makes every day feel like fun as opposed to work. Here's to the next six years of growth, learning, and success! 🎉 #REDISCOVER #Recruitment #InternationalRecruitment #Teamwork #Innovation

Take care of your team. 📢 We are so focused on attraction we seem to be forgetting the importance of retention. 🤯 1- Fair compensation & recognition. 2- Continuous learning & growth opportunities. 3- Career advancement. 4- Encouraging open communication. 5- Offering flexibility. Failing to prioritize these will result in your team walking away. 👊🏻

The Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin! You're absolutely right, "The Office" paints a hilarious picture of how much better work can be with friends. Here are some examples from the show to illustrate. Overall, "The Office" reminds us that while friends can make work better, it's important to maintain professionalism and respect boundaries. But there's no denying that having genuine connections with colleagues can bring joy, support, and even a little chaos to the daily grind! Do you have any specific moments from "The Office" that exemplify the power of workplace friendships? I'd love to hear your thoughts. #JobSearch #NowHiring #CareerOpportunities #JobOpening #JobListing #EmploymentOpportunities #HiringNow #JobPosting #GetHired #WorkOpportunities #JobSearchTips #JobInterview #JobApplication #JobOffer #JobFair #JobAlert #JobMarket #ResumeTips #InterviewTips #EmploymentAgency #recruitment #jobseekers

Long before my journey in to Talent Acquisition, I understood the power of having and hunger to have an internal network within your organization. However, I myself have always been a bit of an introvert so I didn't always feel comfortable with making the first move to create a network. So I have found it to be invaluable to really immerse myself in my connections with my direct reports, colleagues, project team mates etcetera. Because I have been able to build these relationships, I have been able to find like minded professionals who also are passionate about internal networking. These individuals not only are deeply talented, intelligent and fun but have a spark that not only ignites others want to connect but mine as well. I'm proud to lead Candid Connections and be a member of such an invaluable team. Brad Jeffers, Julie Adi, Madison Zimmer, Monique Sobota, Amy Burgett, Emily Dougherty, PHR, Zeljana Opacak, Richard Suarez II To provide a little history, since September 2022 my team has been hosting a monthly get together for all of TA to meet for one hour with the purpose of building our internal network and sharing best practices to aid in professional growth, learning from peers, building relationships, and identifying good partners and or mentors. Every month we have a new topic, we always provide conversation starters for both Business and Personal points of conversation. Some examples are Candidate Experience, Stakeholder experience, Recognition and Volunteering. It’s also a place where we can use some time to get to know our peers on a more personal level, we discuss topics such as: Holiday plans, springtime plans, favorite foods, hidden talents etc. I am proud of the achievements we have made thus far and what more to come!! Here's to future connections! #networking #candidconnections #teamworkmakesthedreamwork
