Using objective topography assessment to determine non-invasive break-up time (NIBUT) in contact lens (CL) wearers provides more reliable measurements than using conventional subjective techniques, which are popular due to their low cost and portability, according to research published in Ophthalmic & Physiological Optics (College of Optometrists). This objective topography, like the subjective methods used, may still require multiple measurements due to inconsistencies noted among symptomatic CL wearers, according to the report. Highly aspheric lenslets (HAL), defocus-incorporated soft contacts (DISC), and orthokeratology (OK) lenses demonstrate differences in central and peripheral visual performance when used to treat myopia progression in children, according to research published in Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics (College of Optometrists). Among these myopia control strategies, OK provides wearers with the best peripheral vision, making it optimal for individuals with a demand for global scene recognition and motion perception, according to the report. A low vision/legally blind advocate for the visually impaired. I advocate through Engagement, Education and Encouragement.
This sounds promising…under less than optimal lighting conditions, I sometimes struggle to tell the difference between the colors of the tops of various eye drop bottles. This potential tactile offering sounds like a promising solution. #lowvision #tactile #iop https://lnkd.in/g8P_ThSA.
