The concept of integrating architectural design with nature has gained prominence in recent years as a sustainable and harmonious approach. Taking cues from the medieval Cycladic settlement, an architecture that combines the ancient wisdom of the past with contemporary sustainability goals can be envisioned. The medieval Cycladic settlement boasts a unique and organic layout, with winding paths and interconnected buildings that follow the natural contours of the land. This design not only allows for efficient use of space but also creates a sense of unity with the environment. Drawing inspiration from this, a modern architectural approach can adopt a similar layout that maximizes the integration of the built environment with the surrounding nature.

Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism Trophy - The motif based on bricks intends to portray the image of mountain/ water paths, which are natural characteristics of Seoul. Bricks are physically and visually associated with architecture. Laying bricks is viewed as an act of accomplishing something. The effort to discuss the future of cities and exchange ideas to find options at the SBAU is an attempt to continue to take steps forward. In that regard, the logo on the trophy contains the shapes of bricks to depict what the SBAU is about. Lines extracted from the SBAU's logo and skylines symbolizing a city were used in this logo. The skyline, which follows the heights of each factor (i.e., points, lines, and sides) in the logo, is cut from the top of the plaque to the back, indicating the identity of the SBAU and the theme of urban architecture.
