This comprehensive renovation includes exterior upgrades such as roof replacement, facade enhancements, and fresh paint to enhance its appearance. Inside, we're modernizing every aspect, from installing advanced fire safety systems to redesigning spaces for key offices like DHEC, DHHS, and the Public Defender’s Office. The future Dorchester County Health & Human Services Campus is a 47,000 sq ft building on Boone Hill Rd in Summerville that was previously an old Bi-Lo that the County acquired through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). This facility will centralize the operations of DHEC, DHHS, and the Public Defender’s Office. It’s hard to believe this building was nothing more than an empty shell last year.
