Fondant pommes de terre Fondant means melting. Pommes means Apple. pommes with "de terre" added after it, means Apple of the ground, "potato". I love the French way of using words. Almost every Hotel in Europe has this on the restaurant menu, and always a banqueting menu. very fast during a banqueting plate up. Potato cooked in butter, stock, garlic, herbs "white wine" added is my way.
