There are pieces of me that were lost during those dark days, and almost a decade later, I am slowly finding those pieces and adding them back to the puzzle. For so many years, I have been peeling back the layers to uncover the authentic Amy. The thing about doing the work on yourself is that when you peel the layers back, you don't always like what you uncover. That authentic person you were so excited to find, is damaged. The critical step that so many people miss is to first do the work on yourself to be the person you want to be, so when you enter the room, there is no need to hide. You can walk into that room with your head held high. You can take that seat at the table with confidence, credibility and most importantly, admiration for yourself. Every table isn't going to have a seat for you. Every invitation won't have your name on it. But, what I have learned is that authenticity shines and the RIGHT doors will eventually start to open. You find yourself no longer needing to squeeze yourself into places that weren't meant for you. Reminder, it is not about who or what you think you are supposed to be, it is about knowing yourself, doing the work and living to your potential without compromising the real you. 🤘
