Over the weekend, I saw the below video. It really caught my attention due to a comment from a friend. It made me realize I'm not alone. While every landing you can walk (or swim) away from is a good one, it’s always an opportunity to reflect on what could be done better. Here are some things to consider. 1. Fly The Airplane! Pitch & Trim for best glide 2. Quick TS, remember GAS - Gas Air & Spark. Is your Fuel pump ON? Switch tanks! If time allows, go to your restart Checklist! 3. Squawk 7700 and declare emergency at 121.5 4. Close the throttle near ground (to avoid suddenly springing to live) 5. Master switch, mixture, and fuel OFF.
