Today, together with our partners, AltaIR Capital and Smart Partnership Capital, we announced our first investment through the early-stage startup investment program, Pre-seed to Succeed👏 We have invested in the London-based digital wellbeing platform Stayf. Somersault Ventures, Mark Yanger (ex-Apple), and angels from Dentsu, Bain & Co. also participated in the round. Stayf is a B2B SaaS company that enables employees to foster social connections through communities and well-being tasks. The startup, founded by experienced entrepreneurs, has demonstrated strong traction and has launched pilot projects with several major clients. We have a busy road ahead in P2S: we will be helping the team to raise a new round. The Pre-Seed to Succeed program is open to various industries, including AI, B2B, SaaS, FinTech, Future of Work, Productivity Tools, Digital Health, and HR Tech. Our first investment under the joint investment program Pre-seed to Succeed is DONE🔥 Today, on EU-Startups, together with partners, we announced the first deal into Stayf, a company in which our fund, Yellow Rocks!, AltaIR Capital, and Smart Partnership Capital invested through the P2S program. Somersault Ventures, Mark Younger (ex-Apple), and angels from Dentsu, Bain & Co. also participated in the round. Stayf is a B2B SaaS company that enables employees to foster social connections through communities and well-being tasks. I believe in the company's future: they have a strong team and a great idea for boosting company productivity. Despite being at an early startup stage, they demonstrate significant traction and are already piloting with several major clients. I couldn’t be more excited to share this news: Inclusively has successfully closed a $13 million Series A funding round, led by Firework Ventures. The future of work calls for tailored work experiences. Our new workplace personalization product, Retain, allows companies to make this a reality within the complexity and scale of large enterprises. Fundraising is the hardest part of the job. Reflecting on the past decade of my startup journey, here are some invaluable takeaways that I wish I had known earlier: 💡 Invest time in finding the right people to partner with who deeply understand your market and are mission aligned WAY before you need money. Wise insights given to me from our lead investor, Ashley Bittner almost exactly a year before she led our round. Understanding that investors value market understanding over your product is a lesson I learned belatedly but profoundly. 💡 If you need money and can’t execute on the point 1 just yet, don't throw in the towel. Perseverance is a choice, just as giving up is. If you genuinely believe in your mission and product, explore any other actions besides giving up. Where there's a will, there's a way! Adaptation and learning with the market are crucial—embrace the journey. 💡 Always remember, if it was easy, everyone would be a founder of a startup. It doesn’t mean it can’t be fun and it can’t become easier, but it’s just never going to be as straightforward as you want it to be and that’s OK! 💡 And, once you raise the money, be super real with yourself about what your own strengths and mostly weaknesses are while you have the luxury to take advantage of the capital (thanks, Maestro Group and Playground NY) 💡 Surround yourself with a supportive team—those willing to dive into the trenches with you and help you climb out.
