National Rep Group is pleased to announce the launch of its new product line, Gondola shelving, under the Madix brand. In 1982, Maytex Store Fixtures, another company from Texas, merged with Dixie Craft Manufacturing to establish Madix Inc. One of the things I am most proud of about our business is that we are entirely bootstrapped, having never taken a dime from anyone. We were fortunate to start Allegiance with no more than $5,000 out of our own pockets. Since day one in 2018, we've always focused on first-order profitability and have never wavered from that principle.   Many DTC businesses celebrate raising funds, but in my humble opinion, raising money is not the true accomplishment; making money is. Financial discipline should be fundamental in running any business. Building a successful business without external funding has been challenging, but incredibly rewarding. The bootstrapped mentality is deeply embedded in our culture, and gives us the freedom to operate independently. This independence was our primary reason for starting the business and allows us to focus on long-term, sustainable growth. So here's to the fellow financial nerds like me, who know their numbers and stay financially disciplined. 🇺🇸

The Pilfer wine closure in a competitive market In the wine market, product development must be swift and also quality decoration maximized as a distinctive and consumer value for the product. Technically, the Pilfer wine closure is made of an aluminium cap obtained through simple encapsulation. Through a complex design, it mechanically supports the disk by sealing the bottle and confirms the first opening following its application through the breaking of die-cut points. 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐞𝐥𝐳𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝟑𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Stoelzle Spirits glass packaging site in Knottingley, UK. We spoke to Stoelzle Glass Group CEO Dr August Grupp on this milestone. He said: “Our employees are at the core of our success. Their dedication and expertise have been instrumental in shaping Stoelzle Flaconnage into the company it is today.” In recent years, the site has been developed into a #modern facility focused on producing high-quality #glass #packaging for the prestige #spirits sector. Looking towards the #future, Dr Grupp said the site would invest in more #sustainable melting #technologies. “Like many industries, the glass industry has a challenging but interesting journey ahead. Mastering these and continuing to develop our products and processes will be our main task for the foreseeable future. KATZ kicks off production at new site in Willstätt 💪🆕 After extensive preparations and an extremely busy summer, the moment has finally come: Production has kicked off successfully at our new site in Willstätt. This new site marks a crucial milestone in the growth and evolution of KATZ as a company. Among other things, implementing the latest technologies together with custom-tailored solutions proved to be challenging, as the customized machinery had to be meticulously adjusted and integrated into our production process. But the effort more than paid off: With state-of-the-art systems, our production operations at the new site are perfectly prepared for the future. Pretty wild stat - every year, there are 1.9 billion pieces of HI-CHEW being eaten in the United States alone. That’s nearly 3,600 pieces per minute...and growing... HI-CHEW has grown 20% YoY, and I expect that to continue as their manufacturer, Morinaga America, announced that they’ll be constructing a new ~$130M expansion to their existing facility in North Carolina, bringing in an incremental ~100K SQ FT (total of 200K). Construction is scheduled to begin in October of this year, and the expansion area of the facility is expected to open in early 2027. Morinaga initially spent ~$50 million to build its existing manufacturing facility in Mebane, NC, where it currently employs more than 200 people. Anyone else surprised by the magnitude of capital needed to double the footprint? Do any candy experts (please tag them!) have any experience with HI-CHEW’s unique processing? Feels like the processing / forming wouldn't be too dissimilar from Hubba Bubba's MAX SKUs but just speculating. I know things take time, but on top of the capital outlay (2.5x+ the initial build-out), estimating 2+ years for a facility expansion feels lengthy unless the (custom) equipment from the OEM is the bottleneck. Either way, exciting to see more international holding companies bring even more manufacturing capacity stateside.
