The D4 dispersion correction is now available for the whole actinide series and r²SCAN-3c can also be used for these elements within ORCA6. Check out the joint paper of the Grimme lab, the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, and FACCTs. This work was also made possible by the new Dynamic Polarizabilities feature in ORCA 6 implemented by Benjamin Helmich-Paris and Miquel Garcia Ratés. https://lnkd.in/dG_BPDNU #ORCAqc #ORCA6 #actinides #londondispersion

Germanium-76 is not the only element that can undergo double-beta decay. Other detectors use isotopes of tellurium, xenon, neodymium, or other elements. Poon says, “It’s important to establish that any instance of neutrinoless double-beta decay really reflects the property of the neutrino. If the process is seen in more than one element, that’s very strong evidence that the neutrino is indeed its own antiparticle.” https://lnkd.in/e7wRnNF2

In a recent study of a multi-cellular system, we observed non-reciprocal two-body forces when cells move in a front-rear arrangement, generating force imbalance. We further model the system and show that the emergent spatially asymmetric structures observed in the experiment are associated with the amplitude of the force imbalance. This is the first study of its kind to establish non-reciprocal two-body interactions in a cellular system and to understand its effect on structure formation. For further details please see the article. https://lnkd.in/e3h2qnVN
