If you were disabled, how would you feel if you were robbed and told it was because you were an ‘easy target’? Would you consider this to be a hate crime? People who work closely with disabled people might not see these behaviours as potential #Disability #Hatecrimes, however, most disabled people probably would. ☝ It is important to take a proactive approach and support individuals who experience violence and intimidation. ☝ However, there is a need to consider disabled people’s social position within historical and contemporary society.
