The use of AI is on the rise – 65% of survey respondents indicated that their organizations are regularly using generative AI. This is nearly double the percentage from just ten months ago. This McKinsey survey is fascinating. Between last year and this rates of AI adoption by the companies that responded has jumped materially. Nearly double the amount are using generative AI at 65% and overall use of AI is up to 72%. Functions where the technology is most embedded include marketing, sales and IT but almost all business areas are now beginning to work with AI and people are also trying AI more frequently in their personal lives. Organisational investment in AI is growing and companies are recognising the value in terms of efficiency gains and cost savings, although currently more is budgeted on analytics than generative tools. Over 67% of respondents expect to budget more on AI tools and development over the next three years.
