🏄♂️ Surf vs slow tourism 🚞: the impossible equation? We haven't been idle these last few months! ... that's why I haven't posted much 😅 You've known for a long time that, at #NOTOX, we are extremely picky about the environmental impact 🌿 of surfboard production 🏄♀️. But we also know that the format of surfboards is often complicated when you want to travel. The bravest can embark on surf trips by bike 🚴🏻♂️, but very often the car 🚗 remains a must… Slow tourism is an obvious choice for those who want to reduce the environmental impact of these trips: take the time ⌛️ and discover the gems 💎 that are hidden closer to home, without having to take a plane ✈️ to go to the other side of the planet 🌎. The train 🚞 is therefore one of the preferred means of transport for slow tourism. But very often the constraints in terms of luggage size 🧳 do not allow you to easily travel with surfboards 🏄♂️… Collapsible or split surfboards have existed since the 60s with Karl Pope and his famous “Bisect” model. We won't claim to have invented anything, but I think we have solved one of the problems of existing systems: weight 🧱… Our system allows us to make any custom split surfboard, with an excess weight of only 500 g 🪶 😮. This means that this excess weight has much less impact on the performance of the boards 🚀. The system has been successfully tested 🤘 on shortboards, by experienced freeriders, during a surftrip by train 🚊. As of today, it is possible to pre-order your custom dismountable model 🏆. We deliver them in special luggage made from #upcycled boat sails ♾️. We are also open to any collaboration that will allow us to develop and widely disseminate this know-how! 🤝 Adopting a split surfboard is taking another step towards sustainable surfing, where reducing our impact is not limited to #ecodesign, but also to every aspect of the use of our floors. 🌊💚 #Splitsurfboard #SustainableSurf #Ecology #Innovation #CollapsibleBoard #GreenTech

In awe of all the Olympics surfers competing in Tahiti, have you ever wondered what makes the Teahupo'o surf wave so legendary? 🏄♂️🌊 Teahupo'o is not just any wave; it's a phenomenon shaped by nature's forces. Here's how it forms: 1. Long-Period Swells: The magic begins with powerful swells generated by intense storms south of New Zealand. As these swells travel across the ocean, they build energy and height. 2. Dramatic Bathymetry: When the swells approach Tahiti, they encounter a steep underwater ramp leading to a shallow reef shelf. This sudden change in depth forces the wave to shoal rapidly, creating the towering waves that surfers crave. 3. Unique Wave Structure: The reef's shape allows the wave to stabilize and "stand up," resulting in a breathtaking break that can drop below sea level. The wave's crest is often twice the height of the trough, creating a stunning visual spectacle. 4. Intense Energy: The combination of the deep channel alongside the reef and the wave’s direction amplifies its power, making Teahupo'o one of the heaviest waves on the planet. With waves reaching heights of 40 to 50 feet, only the most skilled surfers can ride Teahupo'o. It’s a true test of skill and courage, reminding us of the incredible beauty and power of nature. #Surfing #Teahupoo #Tahiti #OceanWaves #Nature #Adventure

They wanted serene beaches and luxury accommodations, so I matched them to the Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay. On the shortlist were Alila Villas Uluwatu and Bulgari Resort Bali, but Four Seasons came out on top. What else is on the agenda? Complete relaxation with a touch of adventure - surfing and cultural tours. Would you take this trip? Comment 👍 or 👎 #BaliBliss #LuxuryTravel #RomanticGetaway #TravelAdvisor
