If an employee has received an offer from another organization and the leader wants to counteroffer, it's often better to encourage the leader to let the employee move on. Even if a counteroffer is made and accepted, there's a high likelihood that the employee will still leave within six months. Once an employee starts actively seeking new opportunities, their commitment to their current role may have already waned, and a counteroffer may only serve as a temporary solution rather than addressing underlying issues. By coaching leaders to support the employee's decision to move on to their next journey, you're fostering a culture of respect and trust while also potentially saving both the organization and the employee from future dissatisfaction or turnover. #leadership #employeeretention #culture #trust
