As a UI/UX Designer I've come to appreciate the delicate balance of simplicity and complexity in design. It's easy to admire a well-crafted interface, but the process of creating such experiences is anything but simple. It requires a deep understanding of user needs, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for innovation. Design is not just about making things look good; it's about solving problems and enhancing the user experience. 😃 Are you looking to hire a UI/UX designer? You can hire me for your design needs. 🚀 Product Designer & UX Researcher | Combining Design, Research & Strategy to Build Exceptional User Experiences
Are We UX Designers or Product Designers? Does it Matter? The industry loves to throw around titles: UX Designer, Product Designer, Interaction Designer—the list goes on. But at the core, aren’t we all just problem solvers? Whether you’re deep into user research or designing sleek interfaces, the goal remains the same: create user-centred solutions that actually work. Titles might define your focus, but they don’t define your impact. In the end, it’s not about what we call ourselves—it’s about the problems we solve. 👉 What’s your title, and does it reflect everything you do?

I am writing this to express my deep frustration regarding the challenges I have encountered while trying to secure an online UI/UX design job through LinkedIn. As a passionate and experienced UI/UX designer, I have dedicated countless hours honing my skills and building a portfolio that showcases my creativity and expertise in the field. Despite my qualifications and dedication, the process of finding suitable opportunities on LinkedIn has proven to be incredibly tough and disheartening. The platform, touted for its vast network and job opportunities, often feels like an insurmountable hurdle rather than a helpful resource. One of the most significant issues I've encountered is the overwhelming competition. It seems that for every job posting I come across, there are hundreds of other talented designers vying for the same position. This fierce competition makes it exceedingly difficult to stand out and catch the attention of potential employers. The lack of transparency in the hiring process only adds to the frustration. Many job postings provide vague descriptions or requirements, making it challenging to tailor my applications effectively. Despite my efforts to showcase my skills and experience, I often receive little to no feedback, leaving me feeling discouraged and unsure of how to improve my chances. Furthermore, the prevalence of unpaid or underpaid "opportunities" on the platform is deeply concerning. As a professional with valuable skills and experience, I believe that my work deserves fair compensation. However, it's disheartening to see so many job postings offering minimal pay or requesting free work as part of the application process. Navigating the online job market for UI/UX designers on LinkedIn has been an uphill battle filled with frustration and disappointment. While I remain hopeful that the right opportunity will eventually present itself, I urge for greater transparency, fairness, and support for professionals like myself who are seeking meaningful employment in this competitive field.

How can you get a job that asks for experience if no one will hire you to give you said experience? A vicious cycle many junior designers are trying to figure out right now. Giving junior designers an opportunity to gain that experience goes a long way to nurture the design community and provide a foundation for someone's career.
