Ever wonder if one moment could change your entire leadership approach? In this powerful episode in our crisis leadership series, Martin Ali Simms, CPT, PES, CES, 🧠NM-Sport shares his inspiring journey through devastating crises. His story is a testament to the power of empathy, proactive leadership, and the transformative potential of community support. Here's a powerful quote that highlights the importance of mental health support during crises: "The deeper the crisis, the deeper the need for some of these mental health practices... We're teaching them [youth] different strategies and techniques to ground themselves, do affirmations, meditations, breath work... We don't have to be therapists to create a therapeutic environment for the ones we love." Want to learn how to foster resilience, build community support, and create a more empathetic leadership style? Listen to the full episode and discover strategies for leading through challenging times. https://lnkd.in/eRvJskE4 #LeadershipDevelopment #CrisisManagement #MentalHealth

The theme for this year's Mental Health week in Canada is #CompassionConnects - A call to be kind. What does that mean to you? For me, it’s allowing people to be their authentic selves. Understanding that “perfection” is largely a social construct, and curiosity can get you much further ahead than judgement. Patience, kindness and real, human connections are becoming increasingly rare, and we need to change that. We need to change the way we measure success. It’s not just about what you do, it’s about how you do it and why. Those so-called “soft-skills” (don’t get me started) aren’t soft at all. They are essential. Thanks to the great leaders I’ve worked with who have proved this to be true! Here's a great little 5-min read that shares some great tips and reminders on putting compassion into action. leading organizational change I recommend this audio article in the NYT (just over 7 minutes) about why we don't use what we know to address addiction... Read it with 2 things in mind: 1) how systems thinking can make difficult change possible https://lnkd.in/ey84P4wA 2) Wharton's upcoming executive education program on Leading Organizational Change.... https://lnkd.in/eBshaMq8 #leadership #leadingorganizationalchange #organizationalchange #whartonexecutiveeducation https://lnkd.in/ehYNxgru

💡 As Business Leaders, We Have the Power to Change the Trajectory of Society 💡 The mental health crisis we’re facing isn’t just impacting schools and families—it’s a reflection of the stress and pressure felt across all levels of society, including our workplaces. The reality is that when our employees are living in high-stress states, their ability to thrive is severely limited. And this doesn’t just affect them—it trickles down to their children, their families, and our communities. Humanity’s house is on fire, and as business leaders, we have the ability to help put it out. By creating work environments that prioritize mental well-being, care, and compassion, we can change the entire trajectory—for our people, their families, and future generations. At HeartProfit, we’re teaching leaders how to build workplaces where people thrive. Let’s lead with heart and be the change our communities desperately need. 🌱 #HeartProfit #Leadership #MentalHealthAtWork #WorkplaceWellBeing #EmployeeEngagement #LeadWithCompassion #BusinessLeadership #FutureOfWork #ThriveTogether #CommunityImpact

Leadership abuse is an interesting topic for me. I never understood how trash leaders - yes, trash leaders - gain and maintain their positions. This is an interesting article. It discusses the possibility of criminalizing leadership like domestic violence. Do you think leaders should be criminalized if they cause irreparable psychological damage or should be handled by organization/company leadership? #leadership #organizationaldevelopment #csuite #leadershipabuse #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcoaching
